Bio:

The Farko Collective is Seattle’s most groundbreaking, genre-stretching jazz fusion group today. The Collective is the brain child of electric bass prodigy Farko Rustamovich Dosumov. Originally hailing from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Farko became a US citizen and chose the incredibly fertile music grounds of Seattle, Washington to start his remarkable career.

The Collective is truly a jazz fusion group. The compositions, all written by Farko, vividly display his extensive bass work for groups playing in the following musical traditions: Afrobeat, Latin, Blues, Rock, Jazz, Uzbekistani Folk, Funk, Ambient, Trance, Classical and many others. Combined with mystifying rhythms, hair-raising syncopations, lengthy solo sections, and highly orchestrated compositions, Farko’s catalogue of work makes him an incredible musical resource in Seattle’s live music scene.

The band includes Seth Paul on Electric Guitar, Tyler Musgrave-Orion on Drums, Darian Asplund on Sax, Kevin Lavitt on Keyboards, and Nelson Daggatt on Percussion. Since their music takes from so many musical styles, audiences respond with great relish and the band answers back with their most extraordinary musicianship, which makes for the best performances, in any genre, you’ll find in the Pacific Northwest.

Farko Rustamovich Dosumov was born in the city of Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He had begun taking lessons on the classical guitar when he was ten, and then switched to the electric bass at fourteen years of age. After winning the green card lottery in 1999 at the age of nineteen he moved to New York City to pursue a future career in music. Farko later attended Cornish College of the Arts, located in Seattle, Washington, and specialized in jazz bass. Since then, he has played with many talented artists and groups such as The Danny Godinez Band, Michael Shrieve’s Spellbinder, Randy Oxford Band, Flowmotion, Pura Fe, Jazzukha and most recently his own group Farko Collective.
