FARLOW

BIOGRAPHY:

Farlow have been performing in their current line-up since 2008. In February 2009, their heartfelt songs were first released on the debut record “The Moment Never Comes”. For the album they signed to Fribourg-based label Saïko Records and their distributor, Irascible Records. What followed were a number of concerts, live performances in radio shows and airplay on different stations (Couleur3, Radio Paradiso, DRS3).

Farlow is much more than just another Indie-Rock-combo. Instead, the four guys from Winterthur and Zurich have developed a unique and authentic sound that stands the test of time. Emotional intensity and dedication characterise their music, as well as their lyrics. Be it an all-out chorus or a more intimate, quite tune: all the songs are straightforward, yet carefully arranged; fragile and yet powerful. Farlow manage to evoke those rare moments in life when the personal and the epic suddenly blend into one. In their pondering on love and loss, on hopes and fears, the songs are always borne by haunting, crystal clear vocals. The band doesn’t care too much about current music trends and isn’t interested in adhering to the latest hype. Nevertheless, their emotive songs are representative of a modern day and age.

Every now and again, Josh, Jonas and Reto also play acoustic versions of Farlow songs. For these performances, the band arrangements are stripped down to the core. With two guitars, two vocals and a few surprises they reveal and emphasise the very essence of their most haunting songs. In this particularly intimate and personal setting, the vocal harmonies instantly reach out to captivate the audience. Seizing the opportunity to pay tribute to great songs in general, the two musicians usually complement their set with cover version of their personal favourites.

In December 2010 Farlow released their new single “Make Me Shine” as a digital download, (in collaboration with Saiko Records). It was followed by the "Make Me Shine EP" - available for download at the iTunes store - in may 2011.

The band is currently working on their new album which is planned to be released in 2012.
