DJ Jorj "The Grindhouse EP"

Like a production line for dance floor gems, Rasmus Faber’s Farplane Records latest offering is keeping in suit with the labels current onslaught into quality house music.
Dj Jori..s THE GRINDHOUSE EP pulls no punches!!!
Jorj is one of Australia’s top DJ..s and producers and has been busy in the studio crafting this big room destroyer which is no doubt purpose built for his own string of big gigs down under.
Grindhouse is beat heavy affair unleashing layered break downs and a tribal rhythm that gives the track a non-stop energy to keep any dance floor gearing up for more.
Like taking a boat ride up the Amazon to arrive at a samba voodoo disco, Black Mamba doesn’t hold back either with it’s energy and suspense.
As usual no Farplane release would be complete without some incredible input from label boss Rasmus Faber. This time round it’s something a little special as RaFa reworks both songs into one and really does create an Epic Journey with his Grinding Mamba.

Bangana feat. Asha Edmund - "Oblivion"
Farplane Records are delighted to present new signing Bangana with their hypnotic club hit ‘Oblivion’. Featuring the extremely individualistic vocals of Asha Edmund, ‘Oblivion’ further showcases the huge talent that Swedish House music has to offer.
Alf Tumble & Combo have produced & remixed artists such as Blaze, Jazztronik & Truby Trio under the superb afro grooves guise of Sumo but now return in 2009 with there new moniker Bangana.
The Original mix lets the boards do the talking with warping synths and somewhat dark pianos creeping around the folky vocals of Asha.
Other highlights include the return of Sumo with a typically more percussive remix with the main vocal being brought to the front and a must for the Ibiza season.
Bringing the track straight to the dance-floor, Farplane label boss Rasmus Faber..s remix follows in suit with an even more upfront take on the track which sets the groove bounding and leaping around an energy filled classic vocal house styled track.

Next up and just perfect for the sun is a superb set of remixes by Rasmus Faber. Entitled 'Where We Belong' - RaFa's Epic Journey, this digital only album again demonstrates what stands Rasmus out from the rest as he recreates and reworks every song from his debut long player in his own unique style
Keeping the releases flowing fast and furiously, May 11th marks the release of Rasmus Faber’s next single ‘Never Figure Out’ from his stunning debut album ‘Where We Belong’ – a sublime collection of melodic dance, edged with deep-house and upfront pop.
The single see’s a delightful collaboration with long term Rasmus Faber vocalist Emily McEwan (Ever After & Are You Ready) as Farplane are delighted to welcome debut remixes to the label from Stimming and fellow Swede Alf Tumble.
Stimming hails from Hamburg, Germany and is one of dance music’s most innovative producers right about now, having delivered stunning work for top labels such as Buzzin Fly & Freerange. He definitely doesn’t disappoint with his remixes of ‘Never Figure Out’. With his trade mark skips and intricate programming, Stimming takes you on an epic adventure of the deepest kind.
Alf Tumble’s Re-Dress chops and warps the vocal into a very pure electronic track complete with a superb breakdown to send the floor into complete euphoria. Alf, who is one half of the splendid Swedish outfits SUMO & Bangana is now producing his own solo material and gives us a real taste of what we have to look forward to with this remix.
Of course no Farplane release would be complete without another superb rework from the main man himself Rasmus Faber and yet again he comes up trumps with a dramatic main room filler that is set to be a huge favourite with discerning DJ’s across the global dancefloor, alongside the quirky and chilled-out original album edit.

The ‘Alright Interlude’ opens this 13 track opus, wrapping glistening synth flecks around shuffling bass before Linda Sundblad debuts with ‘Everything Is Alright,’ a slab of soulful pop, with echoes of Robyn, which has won a raft of critical acclaim everywhere, from The Sunday Times to industry bible, Record of the Day. ‘Give It To Me’ rumbles with low-slung funk before erupting into a full-blown hedonistic disco battle-cry from Dyanna Fearon, an accomplished singer/songwriter fresh from the recent Reel People album. ‘Always’ is a cinematic soundscape, drenched with Sundblad’s vocals and celestial strings.
On ‘I Don’t Mind,’ the ethereal vocals of Parasto twist around a mix of 50’s exotica and downbeat samba, anchored by balmy drum licks and glistening synths. Meanwhile, ‘Traveller Toccata’ loops bewitching piano taps around bit tersweet strings, building a delicate instrumental. Gospel vocals open ‘Where We Belong,’ clearing a path for ebbing bass that gloriously snowballs, trailed by sparkling electronica and guitar scratches.

February 23rd marks the release of ‘Give It To Me’ featuring Dyanna Fearon, the second single to be taken from Rasmus Faber’s forthcoming album ‘Where We Belong’ – a sublime collection of melodic dance, edged with deep-house and upfront pop.
The Extended 12” mix of ‘Give It To Me’ rumbles with low-slung funk, before erupting into a full-blown hedonistic disco battle-cry from guest vocalist Fearon, an accomplished singer/songwriter fresh from the recent Reel People album.
Rasmus’ own RaFa Smooth Mix is a magical re-rub with sun-flecked synths and ethereal whispers, meanwhile the RaFa Dub is stripped back, trailing industrial synths and a squelchy bass-line across soulful vocals. The Wamdue Project Mix is a balmy affair, stained with muted space-age howls, whilst the Spiritchaser Remix fizzes over with bubbling synths, moody bass, laser-gun screams and glistening vocals.

December 8th marks the release of Rasmus Faber's new single "‘Everything Is Alright’". An ambitious, masterful blend of deep, musical house with a heart of pop, ‘Everything Is Alright’ will put Rasmus on the map as a crossover act on a par with the likes of Roisin Murphy and Basement Jaxx.
Take the colours of Robyn, 4 Hero and Lindstrom, mix them up and you get a picture of ‘Everything Is Alright’. An uplifting, cinematic dawn of pianos and strings gives way to the sugary, innocent vocals of Linda Sundblad, which roll out to the end - half a song structure, half a house 12”. In the ambient tradition of ‘Smokebelch 2’ and ‘Offshore’ remixes, Rasmus provides the ‘Chillax mix’, taking the track to new heights of airy brightness. Lovebirds, (who already have fans in Prins Thomas, Ashley Beedle, Tom Middleton and Bill Brewster) deliver vocal and instrumental remixes, perfectly pitched between cosmic disco and shiny new house. Spiritchaser member and Guess & Duffnote Records label boss Richard Earnshaw provides more house flavours whilst Rasmus also provides a clean, infectious and building Club Mix.

Farplane Records first release of 2008 see's label boss Rasmus Faber return to fine form with 'Are You Ready'. Featuring the vocals of Emily McEwan who collaborated with Rasmus on his smash hit 'Ever After', 'Are You Ready' also see's San Francisco's house maestro Kaskade deliver some super cool remixes.
Rasmus Faber picks it up a notch on his remixes, going between a heavy and techy main groove, and athmosperic and piano-driven breakdowns. There's a few different versions to chose from, including a percussive Dub Mix, and an Almost Instrumental Mix for maximum flexibility.
Kaskade is at his best here, with an accoustic guitar with tons of attitude driving the remix forward. Classic sultry Kaskade harmonies, without losing a drop of energy, just like we love it!

After a full on DJ support all over the world, Rasmus pulls in a few favours for "Demanda - Part 2" from 2 house music aficionados - Salted's Miguel Migs, and one half of the S.U.M.O. production team - Alf Tumble. As you'd expect from a man of Mig's experience, his vocal & dub mixes fall nothing short of excellent. It's a real treat on the ears, and has all the makings of being a summertime dancefloor fave. Alf's mix brings in a breezy jazzy-edged vibe fused with a stabby bass…a smidge of electro (and only a smidge!) adds a jacking energetic flavour, whist the chopped up vocal adds a whole new direction to the track, opening up the floor to a whole new crowd.

With the summer season almost in touching distance, Farplane's musical maestro Rasmus Faber introduces the world to the delightful vocal prowess of Brazilian-born singer Clara Mendes. She makes her debut within the scene (although you'd never know it!) providing an intoxicating performance of heart-felt lyrical bliss alongside the Latin-infused production - it's tailor-made for the sunshine (when it finally appears). Being the first "Rasmus Faber" release on the label since "Come With Me", he was simply itching to stamp his authority on release number 10 - so provides 3 equally brilliant, yet different mixes for the dancefloor to absorb.

It's pure sunshine music of the highest order on here. Skippy sunshine
beats, sweet latin rhythms & infectious male & female vocals. The Latin Excursion Mix delves even more into the latin-jazz sound with a soothing flute solo and gentle tempo. Not to be outdone, Danish hot shot Ron Gelfer turning in a mix full of upbeat percussion, and a driving synthy hook that builds & moves throughout the track. Completing this package is the Rafa Remix, taking the track deep into percussion heaven.

With the Scandinavians continuing to heavily dominate the house scene, Rasmus Faber gives Danish producer Ron Gelfer the chance to shine on this whole hearted vocal outing from Tiger Lily. Deep moody chords brush with skippy, distinct beats providing the ideal platform for the strong yet graceful track. Ron ups the ante on his Epic Dub Mix, working in a whole heap of spine tingly keys and choppy vocal parts – a real peaktime gem this. On the flip, Rasmus Faber provides 2 exquisite remixes!

Originally out back in 2004 on Swedish label Jugglin', sublabel to Raw Fusion. Rasmus Faber's delightfully tweaked mix also accompanied the release, conjuring up a mirage of late night soulful antics. The new mixes for the package take the track onto a whole new level. San Fran's mighty remixing & production machine Jay-J has enough ticks, stars and praises to his name than most in the business and here he takes the track upbeat with a fresh injection of punchy beats, a vibrantly charged bassline and a whole smattering of hooky effects and melodic magic.
On this site you can get to know the artists connected to the label, as well as check out each release thoroughly, get upfront news, and find out where to buy the music, both in analog and digital format.
Farplane Records has, ever since its launch, been promoting and releasing quality house music. The main concept is music firmly connected to the dancefloor, yet with undisputable musical qualities. The variation of mixes on each release, and the careful process in which each track is worked to perfection, has placed Farplane Records among the top labels in its genre, despite the fairly low number of releases so far. Truly a quality over quantity concept, which has worked out favourably, in a market flooded with generic music.
The label was founded in 2003 by Rasmus Faber, kicking off with the huge hit "Ever After" and followed by the now classic records "Divided/United", "Never Felt So Fly" and "Get Over Here". First mainly an outlet for Rasmus Faber's own work as a producer and composer, Farplane Records has now grown to include the talents of artists Ron Gelfer, UPZ and Feet, with more artists to come, as Farplane Records expands its search for good music worldwide.
Producers remixing for the label include highly prominent producers such as Axwell, Jay-J, Reel People, Christian Alvarez, Sumo, Rasmus Faber, Ron Gelfer and adding more exciting producers to the remix roster with each release.

FP006 Rasmus Faber feat Melo "Come With Me"

The much anticipated track "Come With Me" once again sees Rasmus Faber join forces with Melo. Having explored the realms of deep soul and massive funk and disco, here is the time for something different. Melancholic, yet driving, with a deep cello melody that could have been something out of the movie "Hero". Rasmus remix is a completely different story and yet another one of the worlds top notch production teams, Reel People, provide the remix of this one in their trademark broken beat style and one of their finest remix works to date.

This is the first track to be released on Farplane, produced by another artist than Rasmus Faber. The french guys from Feet have honoured Farplane Records with this beautiful summery track, vocalled by Michelle. A steady groove and well crafted song, topped off with a beautiful string arrangement makes this track a gem. Feet are also providing a bonus track in the form of the track "Bailar" with Rasmus on the remix duties.

Two mixes for those long summer nights, a true latin feel to these. Actually, one of them is downright salsa, done Faber-style. A good place here to mention Rasmus long time cohort, percussionist Thomas Eby, who has played on every Rasmus Faber production since the beginning of his career. His skills are magnificently displayed in this percussion mayhem of mixes.
FP004 Rasmus Faber feat Melo "Get Over Here"

Here is another of Rasmus Faber's timeless classics. When released, the praising it receieved seemed endless. The massive arrangements of the original mix just blew people away, and again, Melo proved his right as a world class soul singer. As if that wasn't enough, a mix was provided by fellow swedish producer Axwell. He needs no further introduction and it is needless to say his mix of this track was huge. Later this song was signed by the label Azuli, who provided additional mixes, among others from Andy Cato (of Groove Armada fame).
FP003 Rasmus Faber feat Melo "Never Felt So Fly"

Originally this record was released on Black Vinyl Records back in 2002, then licensed back to Farplane Records and re-released with completely new and improved mixes. This is a true gem, as much soul as it is house, and that vocal break that never ceases to amaze. Melo shines like the true star he is here and his smooth voice is carried forward by flawless production. The remix has a more afro flavour to it and the dub gives the record a dancefloor edge. The vocal break, added as a bonus track, rounds off the record beautifully.
FP002 Rasmus Faber pres Apollo vs Melo "Divided/United"

This record is something so unusal as a duet with two male singers, Apollo and Melo. Both accomplished singers in their own right, here they shine together in this very soulful track written by Apollo together with Rasmus Faber. When first presented by Louie Vega on a Soul Heaven compilation, it immediately became a classic at the underground garage parties in NYC. And when it came out on Farplane it was an instant house classic. The remix and dub gives the package great variation and depth.

The first record to be released on Farplane Records kicked the label off with a big boom. Becoming a big hit in the house scene and later a huge crossover hit in Japan, this song clearly has some kind of magic appeal to it. The sultry vocals signed Emily McEwan floats seemlessly through this beatifully crafted latin and soul-flavoured house stomper. Package includes a dub, a samba/lounge style mix and a cool mix by Swedish production wizards SUMO.

OUT NOW! 'Fulltilt EP' from Glasgow outfit Mr Hajika.
4 slabs of groove driven tech house...
Fulltilt original is a chugging, bass heavy track with a subtle musicality that develops throughout. Dr. Bergers remix is a stripped down deeper edit, with an infectious flow that maintains the essence of the original. Similarly to Dr. Berger, Alex Fiction strips back the layers to uncover an electronic soul which builds into an intelligently emotive interpretation, if slightly twisted. Completing the package is 'Nitemoves' which shares the big sound of Fulltilt, but with a more progressive, melodic vibe."
