At the end of the year 1998, Victor WhipStriker (bass), Leo WitchCaptor (guitar/vocals) and Pedro Skulkrusher (drums) assemble to form a band and play cover versions of acts such as Venom, Motorhead, Tank, Misfits, Diamond Head, Kreator, and more.
In March 1999, Victor Poisohell (guitar) joins the band to put it in its actual line-up. The then nameless band went on playing covers until the beginning of 2000. By that time the name Farscape was chosen and own songs started to appear. There were clear influences then: Kreator, Sacrifice, Possessed, Exumer, Whiplash, Destruction and many other great Thrash and Heavy Metal which made history in the Metal scene.
Already with some compositions done, Farscape enter studios in January 2001 to record their debut demo. That was entitled Doctrine Sickness, and was worth after some time, entering the underground scene with 100 self financed copies and 500 tapes released in Germany by Deathstrike Recs. Doctrine Sickness was re-released in other 2 independent sold out versions, for a total print run of 2000 copies.
During this time, some labels propose to release the Farscape debut album. Dark Sun Recs was chosen, and the album was started on the second half of 2002. Demon..s Massacre was released on CD and LP on Dark Sun and on tape by Thailand’s Witchhammer Records.
The year 2005 starts and the band enters studios to record 3 more songs for a new split LP again on Deathstrike Recs. The LP featured Victimizer, Betrayed and Eternal Pain as well as Farscape.
2006 starts and the band signs up a deal for the second album, Killers on The Loose. The label was Unsilent Records from São Paulo. In spite of some NWOBHM influences showing up in the previous work, it is on this second album that the band manages to record songs in a more traditional Heavy Metal style. Thrash Until You Drop and Wild Rocker are the biggest examples of these influences. Farscape opened to Rotting Christ and Desaster this year.
In 2007, two releases: For Those Who Love to Kill and The Horror Can’t Stop. The first one was on Kuravilu Recs from Chile and is comprised of a new EP with 3 new songs and an Exploited cover, and also of the 2005 Thrash Until You Drop EP and the Doctrine Sickness demo from 2001. The latter, on Iron Bonehead from Germany is a 7” split EP with Sodomizer.
In the first quarter of 2008, there was a Brazilian tour commemorative of 10 years of the band, wich went through 14 states. The gigs were extremely pleasant. 4 months after, Farscape opened to Sodom in Belo Horizonte. For Those Who Love to Kill was re-released by No Colours Recs in cd and Lp versions.
Now they do some gigs and rehearse their 3rd album, to be out in 2009. Title will be Fallen Household. The decay of family values will be the theme. Lyrics will be inspired in the great theater plays of the great brazilian writer, Nelson Rodrigues.
