Farvahar Records LLC was started in November 2007, to help promote the metal music and bands I love. I have come to know many great Metalheads - fans, bands and other highly dedicated and loyal support communities and businesses - doing their best to promote Metal music and keep the flame of what we all love burning brightly for now and posterity. I wanted to be an active part of that, and when I met Lunarium in October 2007, I decided I wanted to release their CD.
My impetus for starting this Metal label was to help those overlooked, deserving and talented "Underground" Melodic Metal bands that have blown me away with their music. I'm not easily blown away, so you can bet the people we sign have that special something! It is not easy being a small Indie label running on word of mouth and mostly passion for Metal, but we don't do anything half-assed. We'll do all we can to help bands who're willing to help themselves. And if we cannot sign your band because we're all booked up right now, I don't have a problem promoting your band as much as I can, if I like your music for whatever reason. I am first and foremost a Metal fan and true Metal fans go out of their way to promote the bands they like, and that's why I'm proud of calling myself one of the millions of worldwide Metalhead legions.
I like Heavy, Thrash, Epic, Power & Progressive Metal with various flavors and very rarely Melodic Death Metal. The common denominator among all of these, for me is a good melody. That and the ability to make out the words the vocalist is singing. Those two are the most important elements to me. AND I'm particularly fond of female vocalists who DO NOT sing in an operatic style. So screamers, growlers, black and death and doom and all extreme genres need not apply. I've been a metalhead for 23 years and I know what I like and the extreme stuff ain't it. If you find a select few extreme bands among my friends, I guarantee you, there's a specific reason why they are there. Other than that I'm willing to listen to what you've got :D!
