A non-profit organization, Friendly House is one of the nation's first residential homes for women recovering from alcohol and substance abuse. Founded in 1951, Friendly House has given tens of thousands of women the resources to lead productive and meaningful lives by providing personalized care in a supportive environment. As a social model living facility, Friendly House offers full time supervision and has garnered an exceptionally high recovery rate of over 72%. Friendly House’s aim is to provide services to any alcoholic/drug-addicted woman who is ready to make a commitment to recovery. No woman in crisis is turned away due to inability to pay residence fees. In 2008, Fashion For Life made a splash with people in LA's fashion circuit May 18th at Mercedes Benz of Beverly Hills. The doors opened up with a fabulous silent auction, delicious hors d’ oeuvres and beverages then closed with a dynamic fashion show highlighting seven Los Angeles designers such as Paige Premium Denims, Marc Callo, Robert Rodriguez, Kevan Hall and Elsie Katz Couture, Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent, Rory Beca, Diane Samandi. The Vision Award was presented to retailer Lisa Kline, whose dreams, dedication and hard work have helped many women and celebrities discover a fashion trend fit for LA’s lifestyle.
