    Matthew Hickey is a Sydney based guitarist, singer and songwriter. He is a passionate and accomplished guitarist. He's been involved in numerous sessions in the styles of blues, rock and contemporary country music. Matthew has been acredited along side his peers,in the Who's Who of Australian Rock,for past efforts and accomplishments he contributed in both songwriting,and musicianship.He has a unique,expressive guitar style,that is both melodic yet explosive in dynamic ability. Having spent many years in bands in Sydney and on the Central Coast of NSW, Matthew has finally stepped out of the shadows to front his own band for the very first time. Although Matthew has a back-catalogue of successful recordings,his latest is quite an achievement show casing Matthew's talents as a respected musician and artist.His album' A New Road 'has been very well received,on radio,and at various live venues. It comprises of eleven original tunes and now includes a surprise live recording which captures the intensity the band created at a recent festival,which should satisfy all those guitar fans requesting to hear the Matthew Hickey Band doing what they do best. The band in its current line up,has been workshopping the new songs at selected venues,and in this short time,have received countless positive feedback from national and international artists and well wishes alike.Cd number two titled 'TRANSITION BOUND' is now in its final stages of completion,with Matt and the band challenging themselves musically with great results.Watch this space.
