Joining the dots between musical genres and art forms, Aldeburgh Music’s Faster Than Sound is delighted to announce three year funding for a pioneering new programme which build on the previous success of its one off events at Bentwater Airbase. Presenting a new year round programme of events, Faster Than Sound will take place in its new home, in the recently converted industrial spaces at Space. Developing a fresh approach which focuses on commissions, residencies and collaboration. Faster Than Sound will present the first of its new events, featuring the world premiere of two commissions for a robotic musical quartret, as part of the Hoffmann Buildings opening weekend celebrations.
Faster Than Sound began as a one off experiment that through the huge interest from artists and audiences has now created a momentum of its own.
Over the past 3 years Faster Than Sound has established itself as a unique meeting place for classically trained and electronic musicians to experiment with sound. Thanks to generous support from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Faster Than Sound is now able to build on this spirit of adventurous collaboration to create a year round cohesive programme that presents opportunities for artists to develop and explore new ways of working through week long Aldeburgh Residencies, world premiere performances of new commissions and an education programme, five times a year across three years ( 2009 – 2012 )

In March 2010, Fractional is going to release « Blood » a new album co-produced by Tympanic Audio (USA) www.tympanikaudio.com and Brume Records (Fr) www.brumerecords.com . If you want to share this event, we give you the possibility to remix a track which maybe will be join to the album.

Electroflex have been back in the studio following a break from gigging and recording with new track ‘Computer Virus’.
This is the first of a series of new releases for 2009, and what better day to start on than Liz’s Birthday!
‘Computer Virus’ is a live favourite. Anyone forced to work with computers will know how evil they are and this track is Electroflex’s response to Kraftwerk’s ‘Its More Fun to Compute’. It is a bouncy number with a serious bassline, sing-along chorus and a selection of curious samples.
