Fast Freddie Fourier and the Transforms have been struggling to get anyone - anyone at all - even band members - to remember what the name of the band is and why it is both funny and appropriate - since their first gig under that name some time in 2000*.
Founder Transform Fast Freddie is plagued by an afflicted hat, which causes him to sing things in a melodic manner. He is in fact the only regular Transform, but other, more peripatetic Transforms include Kevin G. Davy, jazz trumpet player extraordinaire, session drummer Brian Hedemann, superb percussionist Renu Hossain, rapper, songwriter and general cohort Shinri T Scott, vocalist Alero, sax player and all-round genius Y. Dahu Mumagi, and guitar-toting wunderkind Tomo Harada**.
In 2002, a four song EP, 'Bush of Thorns' was recorded and 'released', by which is meant that Fast Freddie went round giving copies to anyone who wouldn't buy it until he nearly ran out, then sent the rest off to America where a company called CDBaby will sell them to you over the internet, here, which really is very sweet of them***.
2003 and 2004 were quiet years for Freddie, whose alter ego has been working on Other Things, but he is back working on a new FFFT EP and hopes to 'release' that, or at least let go of the damn thing, some time later in 2005.
Far more Freddie than anyone might reasonably want also to be found at the Officially Official Site...
* Actually, it was March 2001. We checked.
** If Tomo or Alero have websites, we can't find them. Alero, it is true, has a page on basha.org, but we're not quite sure this counts. In any case, she hasn't updated it for ages.
*** Note that Fast Freddie has failed to include the words 'go and buy my CD' in the above paragraph. This is because he is far too English and diffident about such things.
