- DAVIS RICKER - The newest band member, Johnny's 18 year-old son, plays bass guitar in the band. He grew up with it. He's a feel meister. Natural rhythm...got it...on it. - GARY MILLER - long time drummer with Johnny. Can anticipate seemingly unpredictable spontaneous arrangement changes with telepathic accuracy. Plays from atomic thunder to a whisper, totally capturing the intended feel of the music. He's a Master of Rhythm. (Gary's son - J. ASHLEY MILLER - former bass player with the band, plays bass on the new CD). All songs on the new release, ARISE & DIG, are co-written by Johnny's wife, DELIGHT DAVIS, and Johnny.
Influences
Hendrix, Cream, Beatles, Zappa, Mahavishnu Orchestra, James Gang, Zep, SRV, Tom Waits, British invaders, Cobain, Jack White, delta and Chicago blues masters.
Sounds Like
The latest CD release, Arise & Dig, sounds distinctly Fast Johnny at the wheel of a fuel injected guitar with colliding pieces of Cream, Beatles, Hendrix, Mountain, Quicksilver, Texas blues, etc., all swirling together for a dynamic performance.
