FAT CITY consists of 7 individuals who have come together to develop one of the best dance-party bands in the southwest.
Up front on vocals we have gone to a two person lineup with April Zamora, (see link, bio and photo), to cover the female stuff and Michael Herndon, (see bio), to do the guy stuff.
Our latest addition to the FAT CITY rhythm section is Eddie Garcia on drums-Eddie is from Santa Fe, NM and has performed with Bill Champlain, the band Santa Fe, Clint Holmes (voted 1 act in Las Vegas), Sparxx and many top Las Vegas bands. Eddie brings energy to Fat City that moves not only the audience but the band as well. Eddie is a welcome addition to an already solid rhythm section.
Rounding out the band is Pete Cockroft ..boards, vocals and trumpet. Pete is one of those rare finds that can do anything musically and his musical maturity is unsurpassed in the NM market. Pete also writes original material for Fat City.
On Bass, “He’s baaack” is Roland “Stone” Smith. He has returned to Albuquerque from Las Vegas to funk up the ever so evolving Fat City lineup. Roland’s return has brought Fat City back to the form it has enjoyed throughout the last decade. We are so glad he has returned back home.
Rod “Dok” Aragon is the most solid guitar player/vocalists you will ever find anywhere. Rod will always maintain that solid funky rhythm and smokin’ leads that keep Fat City fans screaming for more. Rod handles the controls when Fat City is in the studio.
Robert Blea is still the mainstay behind the Fat City clan. Robert knows the only way to have a great band is to surround yourself with GREAT MUSICIANS and GREAT PEOPLE. Robert has added the alto and baritone saxes along with tenor and flute in the “live shows” Fat City has put together.
Fat City with Jenna, Michael, Eddie, Pete, Roland, Rod & Robert will continue to play music for the people who not only appreciate good music but for everyone who enjoy fun, danceable party music.
The 2008 edition is one of the best if not THE BEST versions of Fat City ever and that ain’t no bull. Come out and hear the newest version of Fat City and see if you don’t agree.
