Ladies & sugar mice! FAT CONTENT are back home in London! And here are the three things you need to know.
FAT CONTENT has a new show Roasting: A Creature Cabaret, it has already been performed at some of London's most exciting venues, RVT, Southwark Playhouse and of course, Bistroteque. Join our mailing list to find out more.
Roasting began as an experiment held in the underground vaults of London's Southwark Playhouse; it was a storytelling promenade-cum-cabaret event with confectionery, contortion and dancing animals.
Roasting now takes the shape of a surreal creature cabaret not to be missed, with characters from FAT CONTENT's latest hit show, The Gannet!
Word has it, The Man I Cure is alive! Reports from Whitesands Sanatorium state that the beautiful, potent theatrical fairytale has awoken. Unfazed ward nurses Trinity and Aesa soldier on, administering their orthodox treatment of TCP and hard boiled eggs.
Could this mean a tour in 2010? Watch this space.
who we are
Drawing upon spoken word, physical theatre, text and site sympathetic devising, we create performance that transcends categorisation in its pursuit of artistic integrity.
We aim to create exciting, experimental theatre. Threading together diverse influences and universal themes, we work to challenge, enchant, provoke and entertain.
our art
We are creators of experimental theatre. Its our passion. Not only do you attend our plays, you feel, taste and smell them.
our last production
was The Man I Cure. Inspired by the Russian folktale The Soldier and Death and the WW1 ward it was originally performed in, The Man I Cure was a potent, surreal exploration of morality.
Sell out success, nominations for Best New Writing and winning The Annie Garret Emerging Company Grant meant we could tour The Man I Cure for nearly two years. From the Annie Garret Studio and The Buxton Festival Fringe to The Institute of Contempory Arts and the Pleasance Courtyard at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2008.
Of course! You were a great inspiration all of you last year! And of course the creativity is pumping; Metal Mouth Selections, in which I was acting in, was a great success!
Thanks for the words of encouragement, we need all the support we can get.
The performances went really well thank you, three of our plays were performed (Living on the page by Joel MacCormack, Identity by Alex Critoph and The adventures of mushroom face and football head by Taio Rene-Lawson and Sullivan Brown) as part of a kind of "scratch night".
We sold out, so we've got a bit of money to inject into our next projects.
It's a bit late but how was Fringe for you guys? Did the show go down well?
