   About Fat, Drunk and Stupid
MySpace Codes
FDS, or Fat Drunk and Stupid were formed in 1990 after a drunken night at a local gig. It seemed like a good idea at the time although between them only the nominated drummer and guitarist had any experience, but the attitude and the dedication to having a good time burned deep.

The early days of FDS were just rounds of drunken parties and gigs in local pubs in front of friends, but people danced, got drunk and had fun, so word spread.

A year or so later the bass player finally admitted defeat and Stuart was drafted in, from that point on the line has remained unchanged.

From the start they've played classic punk songs, from the Sex Pistols, The Clash, Ramones to Green Day and everything in between, partly because that s what they grew up with and loved, partly because it's what people wanted to hear. FDS started as a party band, just some friends getting together to have fun and party, playing songs that they grew up with, songs that don't deserve to be forgotten.

As time passed FDS somehow got good, which was a surprise to them as much as anyone. Their set became tight but not at the expense of their enjoyment, FDS was and still is a fun animal. The banter and attitude of the band is as much a part of FDS as the music is.

From this the word spread and like all good parties more and more people joined in, more people danced and more people drank. FDS started playing gigs all over the south of England anywhere they could, rallies, front rooms, festivals, parties, pubs they do it. As long as the beer flows and they re having fun they ll keep beating them out.

FDS don't take themselves too seriously, they're just out to have fun and hopefully entertain and amuse a few people on the way, re-bookings and filled gigs testify their ability to do this. As long as people get up dance, have fun and buy them a few drinks FDS will continue to fly the flag of punk.

Many thanks again for your support with Attila last night guys - everyone had a great evening and your contribution was very much appreciated.

Most importantly Pete Smith (landlord) was very impressed and was talking about putting on FDS + Who's Afear'd, which sounds like great combination to me, so I suggest you give him a call and talk to him about that ASAP!

Will let you have our other photos as soon as we've uploaded them.

Thanks again - hope to see you back in Weymouth again soon!
