Fat Hippy was born of a frustration at the lack of support for the wealth of musical talent we found coming through the door at Captain Toms every week, in a sort of necessity is the mother of invention stylie We started the label back in October 2002 with a £1000 overdraft, a vague plan to help raise the profile of the burgeoning North East music scene and an anarchic dream of overthrowing the evil tyranny of the $ driven corporate music industry and replacing it with our own slightly nicer one!
