Formed in 1996, the Milwaukee-based Fat Maw Rooney has recently emerged onto the national music scene as a serious force to be reckoned with. With roots and passions firmly in the blues and R&B/funk genres, FMR also seamlessly blends armloads of rock, fists full of bluegrass, dashes of reggae, and sacks of Latin into their tremendously original and passionate blend of music. Their powerful original sets have been capturing the hearts and minds of thousands of music hungry concert-goers throughout the Midwest. The band's musical catalog is jammed full of inventive composition, spot-on four part vocal harmonies, and "lyrics that transcend all ages and backgrounds."
Fat Maw Rooney has been called one of Minnesota's Best Jam Bands in "The Minneapolis/St.Paul Star Tribune", has received numerous features and cover stories in many Wisconsin news papers and magazines including Maximum Ink, Rick's Café, The Sheppard Express, and The Isthmus. They have also performed at such prestigious venues as the 10,000 Lakes Festival (Detroit Lakes, MN), The Rave Ball Room
(Milwaukee), and the Orpheum Theatre (Madison, WI), among others.
