About me: My studio is called Futureappletree Studio Too. I was a co-founder and the main recordist for Daytrotter.com until July 2008, when I split off to persue more album-oriented recording, although I now do occasional work for them. During my tenure I recorded over 350 bands, over 1500 songs, in a little over two years. I try to condense the creative process a bit, to think of every aspect of the music, but to limit the documentation of it. I have a space in Davenport, Iowa (across the river from Rock Island, IL). I use varied approaches to recording (live, INTERESTING as opposed to "correct" sounds). I like to work on tape, 1/2" analog as much as possible, and I have 1" 24 and 2" 24 tracks but anything goes, really. I believe uncontrolled variables and limitations are part of the process of making good music. I am/was a member of The Multiple Cat and The Marlboro Chorus as well as Struggle in the Hive, and am currently doing some new musics. Get in touch to see about recording or sending tracks to mix. Some of the bands I recorded for Daytrotter that chose to release my recordings are: The National, Blitzen Trapper, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Margot and the Nuclear So-and-Sos, Limbeck, and Headlights. Record credits include: Track a Tiger, The Poison Control Center, BLue and Brown Books, Jamey Cummins/Parish Festival/The Oliver Twists, Mondo Drag, Chrash, Tenki...
Who I'd like to meet: Alan Watts/Brian Eno/Robert Anton Wilson/JG Ballard/Neil Young/Phil K Dick/Colin Newman/Paul McCartney/Joni Mitchell

Just wanted to say, the CD is all out and done, and it's great. I'm real stoked on how it sounds. We had such a great time working with you, and using your beautiful space. I have some nice pics from the studio if you want some for your myspace. We have two Iowa City shows this summer, if you make it to either you get a complimentary copy of the CD. Hopefully we can work together again.
Hey,
I harbor perverse delusion of grandeur and think I can make it. This music sucks but I am giving it away for
free in hopes that it will be able to compete with the vast array of music vying for attention on the internet.
Check out the myspace www. myspace. com/emilandfriends and cop the FREE EP at

These tracks will be sure to have you reaching for the stop button as soon as they start.
Also, check out my page for more awful music being given away gratis.
