Fatty Poindexter was originally formed by singer/songwriter Jamin Shepherd around 2003. "Fatty" added Chris Fischer on drums and Caleb Williams on bass later in 2004. Chris Fischer gracefully stepped down in 2005 and Dalton Aleskin stepped in early in 2006 to keep the beats steady. This trio was rockin' around Denton, Tx. until they added a fourth, Rex Emerson - the mandolin master, in June of 2006. The end of September, Dalton left to pursue other interests and October brought a new style of percussion with James Welch taking over the drum kit. And after plenty of guest appearances, Gaah(n), playing the keys like none other, joined the guys sealing them tight as a fearsome fivesome on the Denton music scene. Jamin's songwriting is incredibly catchy and you will probably find yourself singing it naked in the shower. Although Fatty took a short break for the summer and fall of '08, there is talk of more Fatty P. shows to come, in the near future!
