Seeds of Love	Aug 2 2008 6:33 PM Come Meet Your Neighbors And Police And Have A Great Time! Seeds of Love is inviting everyone to come out for the 2008 National Night Out Against Crime! Where: Astoria Park - Shore Blvd. Between Ditmars Blvd. and Astoria Park South When: Tuesday, August 5th from 5pm to 8pm NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to: * Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness * Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs * Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships * Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. The 114th Precinct will host one of the largest community gatherings in Astoria! Activities will include information about crime prevention. There will be dental checks available at the Smile Mobile from Colgate Palmolive. Mt. Sinai will be providing blood pressure checks. There will be a dunk tank where you can try and dunk a cop, free hot dogs, hamburgers and water! (Last year the police officers were cooking up a storm for their community!) The FDNY Safety Unit will be there with their fire engine. :) There will be free pony rides for children and a little dance performance put on by children from Variety Boys & Girls Club. Sounds like fun, right?! Many local organizations and agencies will have tables with literature and handouts. There will be face painting and games with the Parks & Recreation staff, and sooooo much more. Oh, they even have Eukanuba coming by with free dog food samples! Seeds of Love will be there to support the wonderful community of Astoria! :) We look forward to handing out information about our next big Fundraising Shopping Extravaganza! ::: This is one you don’t want to miss!::::: We would love to see all of our neighbors and friends, so, stop by, and say, “HI!” Free free to spread the word about this fun community event! :::I love Astoria! ::: Hugs, :) Danielle
