This band has had a major impact on all of us in it and coming to and end is hard for us to do but its what must be done. All the memories over the past 3 years will never be forgotten and we thank all who helped keep Fauntleroy alive for as long as it has lasted and for turning our dream into a reality. We cant thank you enough and can only hope the best for the future. Thank you, we will miss.
BIO:
In August 2006 four guys, Mike Arnold, Steven Pacheco (formally of Alternative Pop Rock band “Board of Directors”) and Gerald Burns and Bryce Parker (formally of Garage band “Rogues Galley”) from Apple Valley California got together to form a band as sort of a side project. They went into Gerald's garage and covered I Want to be Sedated and Blitzkrieg Bop by the Ramones. They had a scheduled date to perform at a band jam festival in late 2006. They started to get a little more serious with this band they had created. They called themselves “Ralph Nader”. They were under the genre of Punk Alternative. They wrote two originals, Who Heres a Negro? (an anti-racist song) and Boning Katie, a song about how annoyingly stuck up and snobby some people can be and how it makes them a bitch. The song later became the bands Anthem. The two songs were also produced out of Gerald Burns’ Garage. Ralph Nader then covered The who’s Baba O’Riley and The Ramones’ My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down (Bonzo Goes to Bitburg). Gerald and Mike wrote two new originals called She’s A Bitch and BiPolar whore, two songs fuled by anger and frustration. The three songs, Boning Katie, She’s A Bitch and BiPolar Whore became what the band called the trilogy because of the anger it brought towards three types of people and how they set themselves apart from their other songs. Ralph Nader soon realized they had to change their name for legal reasons. The bands new name was now “Fauntleroy”. A name the band came up with for various and unknown reasons. Gerald changed the song Who Heres a Negro? to Who Heres a Pinhead? The song is dedicated to Ramones fans and is usually heard just before Blitzkrieg Bop to pay tribute to the Ramones. As band jam was coming up quick, Fauntleroy began writing a series of originals such as Farley, I Wanna Go-Go Lucy, and R.I.P. The songs were only in their early stages. Fauntleroy played Band Jam 2006, which marked the bands first performance in front of an audience. Soon after Band Jam Bryce quit Fauntleroy for anger issues twards the band and a difference in styles.
In early 2007 Fauntleroy was looking hard for a rhythm guitarist to replace Bryce for the upcoming Band Jam in early 2007. They eventually found Kenny Sousa, a drummer out of Victorville. Fauntleroy only scheduled Ken to play the Band Jam and then begin looking for a new guitar player but plans changed as Ken fit so well that he is today officially part of the bands line up. Funtleroy went right into the garage and learned Wanna Go-Go Lucy, commonly referred to as Lucy. The band played the second Band Jam outdoors in March 2007. Fauntleroy had been looking to record their first EP for some time now but now with Ken in the band it was time to get just a little more serious. Fauntleroy went right back into the garage and taught Ken all the originals and a new song called Homeless In San Diego, a song Mike wrote influenced by an improvised song the bands hippie friend named Lauren played on the guitar. The song is usually heard at the end or towards the end of their set lists because of its powerful ending.
The band had six strong originals, Boning Katie, Who Heres A Pinhead?, She’s A Bitch, BiPolar Whore, Wanna Go-Go Lucy and Homeless In San Diego. The band finally went in to record their first EP with Steven Orsinelli. The EP was titled after the groups anthem “Boning Katie”. It included their six listed originals. Fauntleroy didn’t stop there they went into the garage and learned two new originals Rest In Peace (R.I.P.), a sarcastic view on todays American Dream and Farley, a song about the life and death of the early 90s comedian Chris Farley. Both songs were written by Gerald Burns. At the end of 2007 Fauntleroy did a series of elimination talent shows called Knights of Stardom where they learned a new cover called Bored Teenager. A song written by new age punkers "The Briggs" they didnt win because of the unfavored punk sound. After playing various parties, Fauntleroy played on Dec. 2 2007 at The Ponderosa Bar and Grill through Monster Party Productions in Apple Valley. The show marked the bands first big show because of its full length set list. Shirts are now being sold with the concerts show poster on the front and the set list on the back.
On Jan. 5 2008 Bodhi Sherzer-potter, a friend to the band passed away. The passing of Bodhi influenced Mike to write the song Never Forget, which was first heard on Jan 18 2008 at Angels Roadhouse, again through Monster Party Productions. The band continued to play shows at Angels Roadhouse with Monster Party where Fauntleroy opened up for New England’s punk legends “Sham 69” on March 16 2008. Fauntleroy opened up for Alice and Smack (a God Smack and Alice In Chains cover band) on April 27. This show included a new cover for Fauntleroy. The song was Israel’s Son, a song by Australia’s Silverchair. The song also featured Kenny Sousa on lead vocals. it was the bands last show with Monster Party because of a money issue and how they treated the band. The band jumped right into a steady practice learning two more originals, Blue Wall by Mike and Conqueror’s Creed by Gerald and a brand new cover, Redemption Song by "Bob Marley". The songs were first heard on may 31 2008 at a benefit festival concert called Hollifalooza. All the proceeds went to an organization that helped people with ALS. Fauntleroy began selling merchandise through Zazzle at zazzle.com/lostdogs89.
During the summer of 2008 steven quit the band because of emotional instabilities. Fauntleroy played an acoustic set as a three piece with just Mike, Ken and Gerald on August 23 2008 at One of Lifes Perks Coffee House, they performed for the first time their new song Leave Home by Gerald Burns, a song about freedom. Fauntleroy's current line up is Mike Arnold on lead guitars, Gerald Burns on lead vox and bass and Ken Sousa on drums. Fauntleroy played Fresh Fest 2008 at Victor Valley College on September 6 where an electric version of Leave Home was first played. On September 27, and they played at the Troll Jam Benefit Show at The Ponderosa (put together by Twisted Productions) with Jimmy Garland backing up both shows on rhythm guitar. Fauntleroy played their second show through Twisted Productions at Beach Bums Bar on Oct 18 2008. Fauntleroy played their biggest show to date on Oct 30 2008 at Angel's Roadhouse! With two brand new covers, Witch Hunt and Skulls by Misfits and a new original Mike wrote called Castoff (a song about mikes old band). The show was backed by Steven Pacheco on drums. Fauntleroy played their final show of 2008 at One of Life's Perks on Dec 6. The show marked as their worse show to date because of a weak sound system and lack of rehearsal for an out door show. Fauntleroy has currently come to an end after their three year run.
Many thanks to all supporters over that time period of three years it was fun and we regret nothing we love you all.
