The Faux Paz are the University of Maryland's oldest coed a cappella group, and they've been wowing audiences from College Park to New Orleans to Los Angeles since their founding back in 1993. Over the last 15 years this eclectic group has performed everything from Aretha Franklin to Keith Urban to Metallica. We can be found singing in all sorts of different places, including street corners, recording studios, cocktail parties, elementary schools, Maryland basketball games, College Park bars, and ICCA competitions.
We have recorded 5 studio albums. Our newest CD, Busy Work, was released this spring at our Big Show! For more info on this CD and all of our older albums, and to order a copy, visit our website at www.fauxpaz.com. Thanks for checking us out!
The Real Community is a place where you can meet your colleagues and friends from vocal groups and choirs from all around the world, promote your music, and listen to music made by other groups.
The Real Community is made for people coming from different parts of the vocal music world - singers, vocal ensembles, choirs, festival managers, booking representatives, conductors, composers, a cappella fans - everybody who has a connection to a cappella music.
we are very proud to tell you about the first a cappella festival taking place in Sweden! Sept 10-14 2008 in Västerås Concert House - 4 days with concerts, master-classes, workshops and seminars. You can fill in the application form or just dig the videos with the festival artists; so far: ourselves, Rajaton (Finland), Vocal Line (Denmark).
Lacuna Coil? Evanescence? Dido? You guys (and gals) are officially my heroes! I'll definitely have to come out and see you guys live next time you play, as your covers sound basically amazing.
