Meg and Jesse became the modern incarnation of Faux Star after a chance encounter in a jazz bar in Brooklyn, NY. Jesse had experimented with various talented musical artists on a secret EP entitled "When We Were Boys", available now on itunes, or through chance encounters with either Meg or Jesse.
No one is exactly sure of either of their backgrounds, musically or experientially. There were rumors of a forest in Massachusetts with shotgun shells and salamanders for Jesse, and some say Meg just showed up one day from 'upstate'. Nevertheless, they began rehearsing in an apartment with thin walls, and the neighbors didn't complain, so they kept at it.
Their blending of male tenor vocals with female alto follows artistically in a tradition from Lindsey and Stevie, or Bob and Joan, to Matt and Kim and Kaiser Cartel.

thanks man. there was an elliott smith memorial in omaha on october... i dont remmeber the date but it was the day he died. a bunch of ppl played elliott smith songs with candles lit and stuff. it was cool
