HADEZ (formerly FUBAR) is located at 3319 Raeford Road in Fayetteville
Chris Cox continues to be hospitalized due to severe injuries, including a massive stroke, sustained as the result of a motorcycle accident on August 26th. His band mates and close friends have organized a series of benefit concerts (suggestively titled “Rock for Cox”) around the area to help pay for his medical expenses.
Performing with various bands, Cox has been a staple of the Fayetteville music scene for more than 10-years. His recent motorcycle accident and resulting stroke have effectively sidelined his musical career for the next several months.
“Chris is a homeowner, he’s self employed and he makes a living off of music and carpentry,” said Motorjunkie manager Josh Hancock. “Being that he is hospitalized he is unable to generate any income. We are hoping to raise some funds to cover his daily living expenses and hospital bills that will not be covered by his insurance.”
The first benefit show will take place on Sept. 19 at Hadez (formerly FUBAR) on 3319 Raeford Road.
The second will take place at the Rock Shop (106 S. Eastern Blvd.) on Sept. 25. Bands confirmed for the Rock Shop show include hard rock/heavy metal groups Dirt of the Earth, New Machine, Mr. Blackwell and Conformity. Raffles and contests will be held at both events.
A third benefit show will be held on Wednesday, September 30th at Dugan's Pub in Pinehurst featuring members of The Chris Cox Band - Danny Nieves (vox & guitar), Ricky Brigman, Jr. (bass) & Dave Council (drums). Dugan's Pub is located at 2 Market Square in Pinehurst.
Also, a poker run will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at Poindexter's Saloon. Registration begins @ 11:00am - $10.00/bike + $5.00/passenger - 1st bike out @ 12:00 Noon. Stops include O'Larry's Irish Pub, Firehouse Pub, Legends Pub, Wingmen Clubhouse and will return to Poindexters. All bikes back in @ 5:00pm. There will be best hand/worst hand prizes; raffle tickets; 50/50 drawing; food & live music. Poindexter's Saloon i
