La F.B.A. nasce nel 1993 come “laboratorio artistico” e nel febbraio 1999 è già finalista al XIV Leon d’Oro di Venezia proponendosi come uno dei più originali gruppi italiani di folk celtico. Ha realizzato finora 7 dischi, è presente in 18 compilations ufficiali (oltre 200.000 cd!) ed ha eseguito centinaia di concerti in Italia e all’estero partecipando ai principali folk festivals ed al VI Festival International de Musique Universitaire di Belfort in Francia, al XXVI Festival Internazionale di Alnwick, al XXXVII Folk Week di Broadstairs, al XXXII Fylde Folk Festival di Fleetwood, al LIII Sidmouth Folk Week in Inghilterra, al Roe Valley International Folk Festival di Limavady in Ulster (Nord Irlanda), al Festival Internazionale del Mediterraneo, al V Festival Suoni della Murgia di Santeramo (Ba), all'XI Festival Internazionale "Celtica" di Courmayeur (Ao), al II, III, V e VII Samonios – Capodanno Celtico di Milano, al XIV Tavarock di Tavagnasco (To), al VI e VIII Festival Interceltico di Ostiano (Cr), al IV Busto Folk di Busto Arsizio (Va), al Folkermesse, al IV Trigallia di Argenta (Fe), al III Venigallia di Montecchio Precalcino (VI), a diverse edizioni dell'Isola Folk di Suisio (Bg).
La F.B.A. ha suonato in cartello con Hevia, Fairport Convention, Dervish, Berroguetto, Dick Gaughan, Skolvan, Lunasa, Iron horse, Kate Rusby, Llan de Cubel, Sharon Shannon, Shooglenifty, Mairtin and Liam O’Connor, Show of hands, Caroline Lavelle, Back of the moon, Davide Van De Sfroos e molti altri.
Ha suonato anche al I Ethnival di Milano, al I e IV Festival Ethno Bocconi e al Palalido di Milano per la Festa del Centenario dell’Università Bocconi, nelle Librerie Megastore Feltrinelli, Ricordi e Messaggerie Musicali di Milano e Roma, alla rassegna All’ombra del Colosseo a Roma. E’ stata supporter dei Capercaillie, dei Modena City Ramblers ed ha aperto l’VIII Tributo dei Nomadi ad Augusto Daolio.
La prestigiosa rivista francese Trad Magazine di grande diffusione internazionale, nel giugno 2003 ha pubblicato lo spartito musicale del brano “Tous les yeux du monde” tratto dal cd Fleadh.
Brani tratti dai cd della F.B.A. sono trasmessi da numerose emittenti radiofoniche e televisive di tutto il mondo (BBC, TeleFrance 3, RAI DUE, RAI TRE, TeleLombardia, Canale 6, TRS, RETE 9 ATR, Radio Scotland Borders, Radio France Bleu, Radio 2, Radio Popolare, Radio Boca Buenos Aires, RDP Radio Nazionale Portoghese, Radio Capodistria, Radio Contact di Pristina…). Vari motivi della band sono stati allegati ad autorevoli magazine specializzati (la bretone Celtics 50.000 copie, le italiane Celtica n°11, n°21 e n°25 con 20.000 copie, e Keltika n°69 e n°91 con 15.000 copie) ed hanno una grande diffusione in internet grazie a celticworld.it, vitaminic.fr, mp3.com, myspace.com
Born in 1993 as an “artistic workshop”, F.B.A. were finalist in February 1999 at the fourteenth Leon d’Oro festival in Venice and set out to be one of the most original Celtic and folk bands in Italy. Since then they have made 7 records and their music is in 18 official compilations (more than 200.000 cds!); they have given hundreds of concerts in Italy and abroad and have played at many major folk festivals including Alnwick International Music Festival, Broadstairs Folk Week, Fylde Folk Festival and Sidmouth Folk Week in England, Roe Valley Folk Festival in Northern Ireland, F.I.M.U. at Belfort France, Festival Internazionale del Mediterraneo, Sounds of Murgia Festival, "Celtica" International Festival of Music, Art and Celtic Culture, Samonios (the Celtic New Year Festival in Milan), Ostiano Interceltic Festival, Busto Folk, Trigallia, Folkermesse, Venigallia, Isola Folk and many others in Italy.
The band have played alongside Hevia, Fairport Convention, Dervish, Berroguetto, Dick Gaughan, Skolvan, Lunasa, Iron horse, Kate Rusby, Llan de Cubel, Sharon Shannon, Shooglenifty, Mairtin and Liam O’Connor, Show of hands, Caroline Lavelle, Back of the moon and many others.
