My dad, Commissioner M. Frank Ávila of the MWRD is my hero. I have a great family.
About me: A skilled courtroom litigator, Frank Ávila specializes in employment cases, political and governmental matters, and civil rights law. Most notable of late is his representation of former death-row inmate in his lawsuit against the city of Chicago, several former police officers including Jon Burge, and the Cook County State's Attorney for torturning and framing him for a double homicide which he never committed and for which he was later pardoned by the Governor.
Frank is also active in numerous political campaigns. His father is the elected Commissioner of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.
He holds a commission as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve Judge Advocate General's Corps.
Who I'd like to meet: Frank Avila has met some interesting people like President George W. Bush, US Senator Barack Obama, Mayor Richard M. Daley, actor Edward James Olmos and Rapper/actor Ice Cube.
