In the summer of 2006 in irondequoit NY, Chddie Miles (bass) & Nolan Parker (guitar) met in a basement for what they called there 1st "practice." they played 2 beatles songs and ate stawberries for an hour or so . no real music was made, but nevertheless, a partnership was forged. a band was destined to be born. a musical powewss had begun...
during the following school year choddie & nolan met in bedrooms and basements slowly learning a few tunes. at the time, both boys were rabid fans of the beatles & other classic rock bands. needless to say, they soon found that a drummer would be neccicary. after a failed practice as a 5-peice band with two drummers and another guitar player, a series of practices with one drummer ending in failure and the boys seriously lacking in rythem, they got together with choddie's former talent show band's drummer Cristofer Ford. instantly the music took shape. all three took a great look twards the future & the possibility that was there in all three of them. a few days later, the "False British Accents" had begun.
the year passed and the band played at the school talent show, the town's 4th of july festival, the county fair and most notibly won 2nd place in a battle of the bands put on by the anti-smoking foundation "Reality Check."
Since winning 2nd place and missing out on the promised studio time, choddie bought a digital recording station and forged a plan...
"SHELTER RECORDS" was chddie's plan. an indie record label at the service of local, young bands & musicians. of corse, the creation of the studio was poseponed when choddie moved out of town from the boys. now located on the town of fairport choddie is building and prepairing his basement-studio with plans of opening it to the public by next year.
these days all three members of the band keep in close contact. a recent change in the band dynamic is the origional songwriting pouring out of nolan & choddie. on the upcomming EP, the song "praise" penned by nolan is a likly single. as for now the band is prepairing for an acoustic showcase at nolan & chris' school dinner dance. the guys look forward to the growth of the band and the hope that maybe someday they can live off it. untill then, the plan is to play music that makes you think, feel & move.
