Fox College Sports, the nation’s leading source for live televised collegiate games and events, presents the 3rd Annual BoatU.S. National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship this fall from Lake Lewisville, just outside Dallas, Texas. The tournament is being contested Sept. 18-20, and FCS is planning to televise the series in the fall of 2008.
Each school will be able to enter two (2) man teams. The first 50 Universities to register online through www.foxcollegesports.com earn guaranteed spots in the event. Registration begins today, April 15, and ends on September 1. Teams are expected to fish for approximately 27 hours over the tournament’s three days. The full field fishes during the first two days of the competition, and the 5 teams with the most weight accumulated on Days 1 and 2 advance to the Finals on Day 3. All teams begin anew in the Finals.
The top-10 teams will share $35,000 in prize money, which will be presented to each university’s fishing club. Each team also receives a plaque commemorating their achievement, and the winning team members’ names will be engraved on the BoatU.S.
National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship trophy.
