At the age of 16, FD made his first movie. FD started out as a photographer. At the time, FD attended the HS of Graphic & Communication Arts in New York City. FD would bring his camera to school and take pictures there and on the way home. With his computer, FD learned how to manipulate the photos he took and began to grow fond of creating graphics. One day FD got the idea to take some pictures and create a movie out of it. The pictures that FD took didn't move, so it was up to him to make sure that each shot came to life. There was still one problem. The pictures didn't speak. That was no problem either for FD. After taking the pictures, FD would place words in between the photos. The movies would end up being somewhat of a "ghetto" Charlie Chaplin movie. The first movie "THE BEATDOWN" (click
the movie name to view) was created. The movie starred FD and his cousin Man. At the time, Man was only 11 years old. Enthusiastic after completing "THE BEATDOWN", FD and Man went out later on that night and made the next movie "CWAKHED". After showing "THE BEATDOWN" & "CWAKHED" to friends and family, FD knew this was his calling and kept making movies. FD created a website specifically for his movies called "FD's Pics & Movies". By 2003, FD had over 25 short movies that he had written, directed & edited all on his own. These movies weren't doing FD much good as a struggling college student. Young and lacking proper ways to distribute his movies online, FD had to figure out a way to package his movies. FD knew that he would have to devote full-time to his art. FD dropped out of school with a goal to buy a Apple PowerBook G4 laptop. FD knew with this computer, he would be able to teach himself how to author DVDs. The only problem was that FD was $3000 short. FD invested his last $300 on products he could buy cheap and sell high. In no time, FD had the money he needed to buy his equipment. By December of 2003, FD was one step closer to his goal. Just like all of his other skills, FD taught himself how to author his DVD. In February of 2004, the DVD was completed. FD created a DVD cover design and began selling "FDTV: Volume One" on the streets of New York City. FD sold his movie to such people as Savion Glover, Dave Chappelle, Redman, Ed Lover, Fab 5 Freddie, Jim Jones (Diplomats), Nas, Ralph McDaniels, Mos Def, Cappadonna (Wu-Tang Clan), DJ Whoo Kid (G-Unit), Mumz (HBO show OZ) & the list goes on. With the help of his family and friends, FD managed to sell over 50,000 copies of "FDTV: Volume One" on the streets. In his spare time, FD took classes at BCAT (Brooklyn Community Access Television). FD then decided to create a television show called "FDTV: The Series". "FDTV: The Series" would consist of 28min. shows of random FDTV movies. After broadcasting "FDTV: The Series" on Brooklyn Public Access, FDTV was an instant success. The show would come on every Saturday night at 10pm. Mostly everyone who stayed home on Saturday night in Brooklyn was watching FDTV. Three months later, FD would also release the show in Manhattan. FD began to realize that people were recognizing him from the television show. Everywhere FD went, people showed him love. FD started to feel like he tapped the market in New York and began traveling to other states to promote FDTV. By the end of 2004, FD had a weekly television show in Portland, Maine & New York City. FD traveled all U.S. locations from the deserts of Phoenix, to the beaches of Miami selling his DVD box after box. FD was able to turn a dream into a profitable enterprise in 2005 and beyond. All of this starting with only a few hundred bucks. FD is now working on his his first feature film, and is anticipating releasing new ideas and concepts that will change the entertainment industry forever. By 2006, FDTV has been televised in over 20 Countries Worldwide & reached multi-millions of people online.
