  • Bio

Fast cars, late nights in smokey back rooms, the smell of stale beer and cigarette smoke, sin, redemption and more sin... these are just a few of the themes present in the music of Kansas City’s Federation of Horsepower. They’re not new themes... the subject matter is well-worn... but lets face it kids... this isn’t rocket science... it’s rock-n-roll!....Your first kiss, your first black eye, your first high speed chase, your first night in a Mexican jail cell with a balloon full of something illegal up your ass... whatever the case, you’ll find a little bit of all of that on tap here... served up fast, loose and loud... just like Grandma used to make.....The Federation of Horsepower... They don’t wanna save the world... they just wanna make noise... Nearing 5 years in existence the Rock 'n' Roll behemoth known as the FEDERATION OF HORSEPOWER shows no signs of slowing down. In the spring of 2003 on short notice, singer/guitarist Gregg Todt , with just a few songs in hand, threw a band together to fill an opening slot for friends, Seattle, Washington's GLORYHOLES. Even though the GLORYHOLES canceled the new band stayed together. Who knew that almost 5 years later the band would share the stage with such acts as: MOTORHEAD, JUDAS PRIEST, ZEKE, SLIPKNOT, DROWNING POOL, SCOTT H BIRAM, SHINEDOWN, JACKYL, BUCKCHERRY, SUPERSUCKERS plus many others and become one of Kansas City's premier rock acts? Now with the release of the debut album "STAY DOWN," a document of those past years and testament to the future of real Rock 'n ' Roll, the FEDERATION OF HORSEPOWER continues to sweat and stomp on the competition. ...."Well I don't lose my composure... In a high speed chase... Well my friends think I'm ugly... I got a masculine face... I got some dragstrip courage... I can really drive a bed... I'm gonna change my name... To Hannibal or maybe... Just Rex..." —Tom Waits "Goin' Out West".......................... .. .. .. ........ .. .. .. .. .... .. .......... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
