About me: ***ALL RIGHTS RESERVED*** www.CarosioArts.com
Federico Carosio III is a self-taught artist whose work captures the intense light and rich colors of South Florida like no photograph can. His beautifully detailed landscapes bring to life the region’s lush tropical splendor and have made him one of South Florida’s most celebrated and successful painters.
A native of Bogota Colombia, Carosio started painting professionally in Soho in 1974, but it wasn’t until he settled in Miami in 1979 that he discovered his passion for painting South Florida’s tropical landscapes. “I love knowing that my paintings are giving people an appreciation for South Florida’s abundant natural beauty,” says Carosio.
Carosio is a frequent exhibitor in one-man shows and at South Florida’s many juried art festivals. His paintings have been honored with a number of “Best of Show” awards and featured as the official poster for the South Miami Art Festival, South Miami Arts & Crafts Festival, Pinecrest Fine Art Festival and Key Biscayne Art Festival. Today, Carosio’s popularity extends far beyond South Florida, and his work hangs in homes all around the world.
A single father, Carosio claims that his best work of art will forever be his two now-grown children, Federico and Bianca.

I especially like the Aphrodisia, where the temple of the goddess of
love is purified and special care is taken of the statues of Aphrodite
(love) and Peitho (persuasion). How much love and persuasion must it
have taken for Europa to climb on the back of Zeus transfigured as a
bull that swam the ocean, took her to a new land, made love to her, and
begat the people of an entire continent! What was THAT pick-up line
like? LOL
I made my first video slideshow and wanted to share it with you. The musician (Elizabeth Ann Middleton) is one I found through MySpace, and she generously let me use her music to set to my images. Visit her MySpace page here - http://www.myspace.com/pianorama - she's fantastic! :-)
