It all began in a cool small town in the north of Portugal, when 4 kids met each other at school back in January 2002, and started making music together. Since JoP, Himself, Cupido and Robert share a Passion for punk rock, they found their direction. They started to write their own songs with one objective in mind, to write that one song that they feel represents each one of them. After writing many songs they finally found it, and that’s when they decided it was time to take it to the next level, to name the band. The chosen name was Fed Up 74. During the summer of 2002 they got their Asses on a stage together for the first time. After their first two shows, they got enthusiastic and started to write more songs with the objective of bringing a bunch of fast, melodic, ass kicking songs to several places in the region. Slowly the band and music became a priority in life, a stronger commitment to a dream was born. They’re 4 best friends that love to rock together. In 2003 The band went to a studio for the first time, where they recorded “lies”. At the same time they decided to create on their own their very first web page. This brought them the opportunity to rock the stage in a wider range of places, starting with the first show out of their hometown. In the summer they had the first taste of a big stage in the Music Festival in Vieira do Minho (Braga). In 2004 They made a home recording of an acoustic song (You) that they felt was special and different from what they usually did, and wanted to share it. Unexpectedly this song seemed to appeal to people, and they decided to give something back through the Internet. More shows started to appear through the year during which they landed a show in Porto, sharing the stage with Aside, Radio Havana, VoideShape and She’s a Dove. This show opened a door to them to step for the very first time on a Punk-Rock festival stage. The PunkFest in Ovar, where they shared the stage with Fonzie, Easyway, More Than a Thousand, Radio Havana, Twentytoon and many other great bands. After an awesome summer they launched their own, brand new website online with merchandise and their own design. They felt they should enter the studio again, this time to record 10 songs. They had something to say and wanted others to hear it. In 2005 The recordings were delayed, this was because they encountered a few technical problems, and they also started to have more of a following in their hometown. This led them to more concerts in the summer, which meant bigger stages with bigger audiences. They shared the stage with Half Baked, Ecos, Grounded, Above the Blue Carpet, Alien Explosion and many other great Portuguese punk bands. At the end of the summer, during which they learned to get on stage and give everything they have to give a good show, a local scene started to grow, and more shows were made in local clubs. By this time they also landed a show in Porto where they shared the stage with No Comply (UK), Just Went Black (DE), and other great local bands… By the end of the year with many difficulties, and switching between 3 studios, they ended up with 2 recorded songs. They gained more experience in the studio and were able to make good home recordings of another 2 songs. With 5 songs they recorded over the years they complied a demo, which got in the hands of a friend in Germany and an idea of going to Germany to give it a try to start their career. In 2006, they did a few shows whilst having the objective to create an opportunity to go to Germany (Freiburg). One of these shows was in Ovar and here they shared the stage with a Portuguese new act called AngryOddKids (parallel project of Carlos Teixeira, bass player of Fonzie). In June they got the confirmation to leave for Germany, they decided to play a show in what you could call a second home for these 4 guys, the bar is called Fundamento, they invited friends that they had made in the last 4 and a half years of the band, friends that were made at shows, hang outs, etc… On the 10th of July they stepped onto German soil. Up to the end of the year they did shows in Freiburg, one of which was a band contest called “Music-Star(t)-Contest” and rocked the house. The band won the heat and went through to the finals. In 2007, after a yearlong transitional period, they got themselves in the studio to record 5 songs and to produce an EP called “What to Do?”. Meanwhile they got ready for the final and played some more shows. In March, at the final of the MSC in Neuenburg, they blew the roof off. Within 30 seconds they sent the crowd into a frenzy of crowd surfing and stage diving and sent out a million watt energy that continued through their set. Against tough competition they were victorious and won the contest. Summer: good dates lined up for these kids, half of which where open-air festivals with international artists, beginning with the Stimmen Festival (DE) where they rocked 5000 people and shared the stage with P!nk (U.S.A). Planète Neuf Brisach(F) with Bowel Function (DE), Neonkrieger (DE), The Seducers (DE), Superdog (F), Bella Nugent (UK), ... Rock, Punk and Metal Festival (DE) with Final Kings (DE), Strong Therapy (CH), Jamie Clarke’s Perfect (Ex-Pogues Guitarrist band), Fat Fingers(F),... Their EP is now ready, recorded in EmiArtz Studio, produced by Fed Up 74 and Emanuel Glück, mixed by Frank Schultz at Pro Ton Music Studio, mastered by Tommy Hein, who is famous for producing the records of bands on labels like EMI, BMG, Sony Award, RCA, Polydor, Drakkar/E-Wave, ... Now, with the “What to Do?” EP a new journey has begun, new songs, new web page, with a new and fresh look, new photos, new video from the studio recordings. Keep your eyes open for these kids...

Tudo começou em Santo Tirso, uma pequena cidade no Norte de Portugal. Em Janeiro de 2002, quatro miúdos conheceram-se na escola e começaram a fazer música juntos. Como JoP, Himself, Cupido e Robert são fãs incondicionais de punk rock, não foi difícil perceber o seu rumo. Começaram a escrever música com apenas um objectivo em mente: escrever “aquela” música, aquela que os representasse a todos. Após muitas tentativas, ela apareceu: “Fuck my principals”. Foi então que a banda decidiu dar o passo seguinte: encontrar um nome. O escolhido foi Fed Up 74. A primeira vez que actuaram juntos em palco foi no Verão de 2002 com o objectivo de levar o seu som rápido, melódico e potente a outros cantos da região. Aos poucos, a banda e a música tornaram-se uma prioridade nas suas vidas e fizeram um compromisso com um sonho. São quatro melhores amigos que adoram “rockar” juntos. Os dois próximos anos criaram paginas web, foram a estúdio várias vezes, gravações que lhes trouxe a oportunidade de tomar o palco de assalto num maior número de sítios. Entre os quais um no Porto, onde dividiram o palco com Aside, Radio Havana, VoideShape e She’s a Dove. Este concerto abriu-lhes, pela primeira vez, a porta dum festival de punk-rock o PunkFest, em Ovar, onde partilharam os holofotes com bandas do calibre dos Fonzie, Easyway, More Than a Thousand, Radio Havana, Twentytoon, entre outras. Depois dum Verão fabuloso, lançaram um website novinho em folha, com design próprio e com merchandising da banda. Em 2005, começaram a ter também uma legião de seguidores na sua cidade natal, o que levou a mais concertos no Verão, com palcos maiores e públicos mais numerosos. Dividiram o palco com Half Baked, Ecos, Grounded, Above the Blue Carpet, Alien Explosion e outros nomes sonantes do rock português. No fim dum Verão no qual aprenderam a subir ao palco e a dar o litro para dar um bom espectáculo, começaram a ser cada vez mais conhecidos e a dar mais concertos em bares locais. Nesta altura tinham já conseguido um concerto no Porto, em conjunto com bandas como No Comply, do Reino Unido e os alemães Just Went Black, entre outras bandas portuguesas. O ano chegou ao fim e, tinham mais algumas gravações. No estúdio ganharam a experiência que lhes permitiu fazer boas gravações caseiras de mais duas. Com algumas das músicas gravadas ao longo dos tempos, compilaram uma demo que chegou às mãos dum amigo na Alemanha... e a ideia de voar para fora do país e apostar forte na carreira começou a ganhar força. Em 2006, e enquanto esperavam pela oportunidade certa para irem para Freiburgo, na Alemanha, deram mais alguns concertos. Um deles foi em Ovar, e lá partilharam o palco com uma banda portuguesa nova, os AngryOddKids (projecto paralelo de Carlos Teixeira, baixista dos Fonzie). Em Junho, depois da confirmação da ida para Freiburgo, decidiram dar um último concerto naquela que é para a banda como uma segunda casa: o Fundamento Bar. Convidaram amigos feitos nos quatro anos e meio da banda, amigos feitos durante os concertos, em convívios... No dia 10 de Julho deram o primeiro passo em solo alemão. Até ao final do ano deram alguns concertos em Freiburgo, um dos quais no concurso de bandas “Music-Star(t)-Contest”, e trouxeram a casa abaixo. Ganharam a eliminatória e foram à final. Em 2007, depois dum ano de transição, voltaram ao estúdio para gravar cinco músicas e produzir um EP – “What to do?”. Entretanto, prepararam-se para a final e deram mais concertos. Em Março realizou-se a final do Music-Star(t)-Contest, em Neuenburgo. A banda deu o seu melhor e voltou a dar espectáculo: ao fim de trinta segundos o público estava em delírio completo, com crowd surf e stage dives a acompanhar os 1000 watts de energia que se prolongaram pelo set. Apesar da dura concorrência, ganharam o concurso e saíram vitoriosos de Neuenburgo. Verão: Boas datas alinharam-se para estes miúdos, metade delas em festivais ao ar livre com artistas internacionais, começando com o Stimmen Festival (DE) onde rockaram 5000 pessoas e partilharam o palco com a P!nk (U.S.A). O EP deles esta pronto, gravado no EmiArtz Studio, produzido por Fed Up 74 e Emanuel Glück, mixado por Frank Schultz no Pro Ton Music Studio, masterizado por Tommy Hein, famoso por produzir gravações de bandas pertencentes a Labels como EMI, BMG, Sony Award, RCA, Polydor, Drakkar/E-Wave, ... Agora, com o EP intitulado “What To Do?” uma nova viagem começou, novas musicas, nova pagina web com um visual novo e fresco, novas fotos, novo vídeo das sessões de estúdio. „Four portuguese guys are on their way!“ Fed Up 74 fulfill all criteria and wins the Music-Star(t)-Contest for Newcomer-Bands at the “Haus der Jugend”....Fed Up 74 were the winners of the Music-Star(t)-Contest. On Saturday, the four Portuguese lads left four other bands from Freiburg behind. They made the crowd go crazy and hot with their Neo-Punk-Rock à la “Greenday”, “Blink182” and “Sum41”....”You can find this professionalism in Fed Up 74. The five members of the jury chose the four Portuguese guys as the winners in unison. “Especially the team-play and interaction were really good during the performance of Fed Up 74, the mood of the crowd was awesome and all in all everything was just perfect”, says organizer Wolfgang Gerbig. The four young men are happy”...

With a perfected and a nearly professional show, Fed Up 74 presented themselves in an unbelieveable mood for playing. One catchy Punk-Riff was hunting another and with a markedly melodic style of music and with strong and fast rythms - combined with their three-voice singing- they were sweeping like a hurricane over the stage.
