This is the official Myspace site for Shooting Star Musician's Network. This organization was developed by Bonnie Byler in 2004 after the tragic loss of her brother in a somewhat questionable drowning "accident". With her partner, Stefanie, amongst many other good friends of Nathan Ballentine they have been immensely responsible for the activities and success of this group along with people like you. Bonnie is currently running this site, and it is the only official myspace information site for the group. We also have a group in music, called Shooting Star Musician's Network. Please feel inclined to go there and join, post, meet all that you want.

We are currently incorporated in the state of Virginia as a non-profit organization. We are in the process of applying for a federal tax-exemption, so that we can accomplish our goals. All of our members are 100% volunteer.
We are working to bring together musicians and other industry related professionals into a network of people aiming to help each other reach goals. We connect teachers with students, students with schools, schools with instruments, anything you can come up with that is musically oriented in any way is something that we will entertain. We would like to provide yearly scholarships to musical institutions, transportation to lessons, instruments and free instruction to hopefuls. We hold local fundraising concerts, and are developing partnerships and associations with recording studios and labels in addition to many other professionals so that we can take our stars from their very conception all the way to their ship which we know is waiting at the docks.
Our main focus at this time is on our "Concert Series" which involves developing, promoting and executing very successful showcase events for local unsigned artists. You can find our events through ticketmaster.com

We do not share the strict financial guidelines that other groups impose. We do not require you to be poverty stricken to work with us. We must simply see a sincere drive, and a need of some kind. You help us, we help you.
We are deeply saddened by the number of individuals of all ages and walks of life, who lack the opportunities or resources needed to reach their personal musical goals. We cannot allow those shooting stars to fizzle out. We make it our personal mission to show the world their talents through the telescope that is our network. We intend to be world wide in our vision of the future.

If you are musically or socially inclined, please consider volunteering to help us in any way you see fit. You can donate time, money, information, even just mentioning our name to a few new people. We always need help for promotions! You would be surprised how many people are interested in our goals and our story. Assistance of any kind is deeply appreciated both by us, and the musicians we assist.
