Bio
From the muggy waters of the river Medway rise a band with fierce intention and relentless ambition. Feed the rhino are live, loud and undoubtedly have a sound that will crawl up the back of your neck and leave you quivering. The band formed in late 2008 when good friends James Colley (guitar) and Chris Kybert (drums) decided to use the chemistry ignited from previous projects together and fuse the experience into something hard hitting and powerful. Front man Lee Tobin was also a long term friend and an initial force for The Rhino's, his over enthusiasm and electric energy only fuelled and pushed the band to a rapid transition. Sam Colley (guitar), Jim's little brother was writing songs and kicking off from the tender age of 15, his talent was never to be missed and was with the boys from the start. The band played a few shows with a temporary bassist but were still looking for the final piece to take the band to the next step. That was until a chance encounter with Oz Craggs, Oz was playing at a show with a now, former band, numbers were exchanged, rehearsal's were smashed and the band were ready. The band's debut album, Mr Red Eye, was produced and recorded at Oz's studio and it turns out the bassist was an all rounder. To say the record sounds massive is beyond an understatement, the power that blasts through your speakers is like nothing heard from a modern day, hardcore rock n roll band. The intensity of opening track the butchers is as fresh as it gets and title track, Mr Red Eye has got has captivation that will have you pressing the repeat button before you have time to lift a finger. Mr Red Eye caught the attention of Gallows bassist Stu Gilli Ross shortly after it was recorded and the band were taken under his wing and into the spotlight. The 5 piece were signed to In at the deep end records and the record was released in June 2010 to a flood of rave reviews including 4 k's in Kerrang, 8/10 rock sound and 9/10 from Metal Hammer. As good as Mr Red Eye is, nothing can prepare you for the explosive live show the rhino's project. It's a beautiful madness that lights up the venue and crashes through the souls of the beholder. There's no doubt that this band give their hearts to the crowd and mean every single beat of their courageous set. -
