Hi, I'm Ren.. and no, that's not my made-up Japanese name. It's a short form of my full name, if you really must know. :B I am a university student majoring in New Media and Japanese, which means I can edit your videos and design websites all while speaking 日本語.. yeah! I have a strange sense of humor..it tends to be on the darker side, to be honest. I love art (looking at it and creating it), cosplaying, taking pictures, reading about topics that interest me, and listening to all kinds of music. My favorite type of music is こてこて系, or the music of Japanese ヴィジュアル系 bands from the 1990s. I like some modern visual bands, though not as many as the older ones. こてこて系 is a large influence in some of my artwork and to some degree, my style. I have a tendency to offend people on occasion, be it my looks, attitude, or comments.. but that's alright. 8) I like meeting creative, interesting people, and/or those who share similar taste in music! On the other hand, I'm not all that interested in meeting annoying weeaboos or those with unwarranted self-importance. :D

admires

Three people I can truly say I admire are Tako, Kenzi, and Kyo. I've been fortunate enough to meet all of them and tell them just how fucking awesome they are. :D Tako is an amazingly talented guitarist. I'm a fan of many bands he was in, especially vellaDonna and his current solo project. Kenzi is good at quite a few things, everything from managing a record label to playing drums, to smashing fluorescent lights on himself and acting crazy onstage. XD There's no arguing that he puts on an amazing show. Kyo has always been someone I've looked up to since getting into Japanese music. It pisses me off when people complain about his lyrics or poetry..it all has such strong messages. He's a great vocalist and a talented writer.

Some of my favorite Japanese bands are BUCK-TICK, NightingeiL, グリム, ∀NTI FEMINISM, La'Mule, vellaDonna, Deshabillz, Vasalla, ゲノ, DEAD END, Red Carpet, L'yse:nore, DERAIL, D'ERLANGER, Creature Creature, DEATHGAZE, 幻覚アレルギー, Kαin, Domestic†Child, MIRAGE, NéiL, Noir Fleurir, Guniw Tools, SUGIZO, SHILFEE AND TULIPCOROBOCKLES, Nookicky, NOi'X, lynch., 雫..., Sleep My Dear, D, ROUAGE, Morrie, Issay, and more. Some non-Japanese musicians I like are Eluveitie, Graveworm, Finntroll, Magna Canta, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Adam Lambert, Lady GaGa, Dead or Alive, Ministry, David Bowie, Dawn of Ashes, The Cure, Wednesday 13, Billy Idol, Deathstars, etc. :)
