Out of Brooklyn, NY, Feeldriver’s fiercely emotional hard rock weaves complex melodies, buzzing atmospherics, and intensely personal lyrics into neo-baroque psychedelic arrangements.
Drawing on the influences of A Perfect Circle, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Muse and Tool, Feeldriver’s dense, melodic style layers guitar, synths, bass and drums into songs that are hard yet groovy, poetic yet metallic, angular yet organic. Delivering a powerful rock rumble with an electronic twist, candid lyrics snake through sinuous, sensual soundscapes that vibrate with undercurrents of grunge, metal, industrial and electronica. With songs that range from raucous rockers to darkly introspective prog journeys, Feeldriver is a cathartic, joyful experience that looks forward to the future of music, not backwards.
Unafraid of exploring new paths in their musical journey, they have remixed their own works, composed solely with found sounds, samples and loops, and have even worked impressionistically through sound/noise collage- but it’s always the rock that calls them home. Ultimately, their creative and stylistic ambitions reflect and dissect the tension and ambivalence of the postmodern human condition.
Feeldriver came together in late 1994, when Tom, Rodney and George invited Luis to jam with them. The chemistry was instant. That first session produced the seed for Feeldriver’s first song, and their music has grown and evolved since. First honing their chops through the frank immediacy of grunge and post-punk, their sound continued to mature until, after a brief period of reevaluation in 1997, Feeldriver gained a fifth member and an expanded musical palette. “We always felt that we wanted a bigger, more intricate sound,” said Luis, Feeldriver’s guitarist. “With John, we clicked immediately, and there’s so much more we can do.”
That instant connection is what inspires these lifelong friends to keep writing and performing. Their commitment to one another is reflected in their determination to make great music whether anyone else is listening or not.
Feeldriver self-produced their first EP Feeldriver in 1998 followed by their first LP, Soma (which included rerecorded tracks from Feeldriver), in late 2002. A second EP, Feeldriver vs. Factory 19, features two remixed tracks from Soma. They have won over fans around Manhattan and Brooklyn on such stages as CBGB’s, Tribeca Rock Club, and L’amour (now Third Rail). Their song, “Servant to Christ”, is part of the soundtrack for the independent film Broken Triangle by Open Independent Productions, and that same song garnered airplay on WSOU’s Street Patrol. They continue to perform around New York while working in the studio, recording and self-producing their next album.

If you choose to travel the road to the truth, then you must be prepared for the obstacles that await you. You may be condemned or criticized by your family, your friends, your lovers, or your co-workers. This is their programming that began at birth that is doing exactly what it's supposed to do. You're going to have to be stronger than that. You must realize that there is a reality that exists outside of this controlled artificial system. Like Indiana Jones in the Last Crusade, he took that 'leap of faith' over the bridgeless canyon in an attempt to get to the other side. Like Neo in the Matrix, he took the red pill from Morpheus in his attempt to cross over to his real self. Once you wake up, it's as if a hypnotist came along and snapped his fingers. You wake up and say to yourself, "Oh my god. I can see it now. Why did it take me so long to wake up?!" For some of you it can be a major shock. Like anything else, take this information and knowledge in stages. If it took a lifetime for them to mold your reality for you, then you know that it may take longer than a day to fully awaken. Remember, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
