In a music scene where most bands pretty much share the same sound or variations of it, you might be hard-pressed to find a band that stands out. For something different, try Her Bed of Thorns, or sometimes referred to as H.B.T. This four piece band hailing out of Encinitas, CA brings their blend of hard rock and soulful singing that stands out in a scene where screaming reigns king. Armed with hard-hitting, high energy, sexually driven rock and the ability to switch to audience-grabbing ballads have set this band apart from other artists.

The band came together in 2007 and its lineup consists of Chris Irick on vocals and guitar, Tim Nicholson on guitar, Jason Ulak on bass and backing vocals, and Will Thompson on drums. Their influences range all across the board but their sound stays true to the 90’s-rock era when bands like Alice In Chains put alternative hard rock on the map. With their fast rise on the San Diego music scene and radio airplay on some of San Diego’s biggest rock stations, such as Rock 105.3, HBT is successful in getting their name and music to a broad audience of listeners.
