..fefczak aka gerd dembowski hält der welt mit fußball vs. countrymusik zwei seiner leben aus dem kinderzimmer entgegen, der urschachtel seiner kritik. gerd mischt lesungen mit gesang zu einem einmalig veganem allerlei. gegenstände werden auch gezeigt, herum gereicht und manchmal schlecht behandelt. demnächst kann er vielleicht etwas banjo spielen und alles wird gut. sowas macht er regelmäßig, aber unterschiedlich - achtet auf ankündigungen in eurer umgebung. gern auch bei euch im zimmer oder im park. ------------- von st. pauli bis johnny cash, wobei es nervt, dass bei vielen country mit cash anfängt und zugleich aufhört. es geht um sein erstes tor, um den fanladen st. pauli, um fußball als gesellschaftskitt. zwischendurch geht es immer auch um country- und lo-fi-kram. ------------- was würdest du tun, wenn du maradona in buenos aires auf der straße triffst? wenn country & antifolk zum einzigen ausweg aus der großstadt werden? wenn der pub "evening star" in brighton dich nicht mehr los lässt? und was hat das singende holzfällerhemd gunter gabriel mit alldem zu schaffen? ------------- wenn du vorbei kommst, hörst du fußballtexte jenseits der 1:0-berichterstattung, von abneigungen gegen schalke bis zu zuneigungen für das nordkoreanische team, das bei der wm 1966 den favoriten italien aus dem raus warf. satire vom härtesten, poesie vom feinsten... erscheint zahlreich, wenn möglich manisch!

fefczak / gerd lebt vegan in berlin, brighton und unterwegs, schreibt bücher oder ab und an für "übersteiger", "ballesterer", "phase 2", "taz" und so... er sang er zur Eröffnung der Oberliga-Saison 2004 im berliner mommsen-stadion in der countryband günter gabriel, schoss danach bei der antirassistischen fußball-wm in montecchio zwei tore und lehnt sich seitdem etwas zurück. --- frickelt für baff (tatort stadion), fare und flutlicht. --- 2006 mitorganisierte er die ausstellungen "ballarbeit. szenen aus fußball und migration" in hamburg und berlin (www.flutlicht.org), "heimspiel. standort - sport - spektakel" in der berliner ngbk (www.heimspiel-2006.org) sowie "you'll never walk alone. fußball & fankultur im o.k. zentrum für gegenwartskunst in linz.

als fefczak flüchtete er vor der wm 2006 auf eine einsame insel, woraus kurzfilme und kolumnen sowie ein insulanisches internet-café in der ngbk entstanden(http://fefczak.wordpress.com).

when fefczak aka gerd dembowski reads football/soccer vs. country music he is holding up two of his lives against the rest of the world. right out of the kinderzimmer which is his treasure box of critics. gerd combines his texts with his singing and composes a very special D.I.Y. mix of satire. meanwhile, he shows “objects” he has found on the way, passes them around und treats them badly sometimes. or he shows a short movie of fefczak’s escape from the football/soccer world cup 2006. He is doing such things regularly, but always in a different way – be aware of his dates around your neighbourhoods. ------------- he goes from st. pauli to johnny cash – but it annoys him that most of the people (in germany) start and end their definition of country music with johnny cash or the german awkwardness called truck stop. he talks about scoring his first goal and how it made him feel success as a threat. he talks about the fanladen st. pauli, the cradle of critical soccer fan culture in germany. finally he explains how soccer becomes the cement to confirm the capitalist society. and in between all this, some country and lo-fi music is fading in... ------------- what would you do if you suddenly met diego maradona in the streets of buenos aires? what has johnny cash in common with the fc st. pauli? what’s horst hrubesch doing now (and who is he anyway)? and what has the singing lumberjack’s shirt called gunter gabriel to do with all that? ------------- if you come around you can listen to soccer satire from far beyond the boring 1:0 kind of journalism. you can listen to why schalke 04 is crap and why the soccer team of north Korea - who beat the famous italian team during the 1966 world cup in england – is very adorable.

fefczak / gerd lives his vegan way in berlin, brighton and on the road. he writes books and from time to time for the st. pauli fanzine “übersteiger”, the austrian fanzine “ballesterer”, the magazine against reality, “phase 2”, and for the daily newspaper “taz” and so on... he maybe became the worlds first vegan country singer in 2004 when he performed with his former band “günter gabriel” before the season’s opening in berlin’s mommsen-stadium. Before retiring for a bit he scored two goals at the mondiali antirazzisti, the antiracist world cup in italy. --- he works/(worked) for the bündnis aktiver fußballfans (baff = alternative alliance of soccer fans in germany, www.aktive-fans.de & www.tatort-stadion.de), the network football against racism in europe (fare, www.farenet.org) and flutlicht (floodlight, www.flutlicht.org). --- in 2006 he launched the touring exhibition “ball work. scenes from football and migration” in hamburg (english text versions on www.flutlicht.org), the exhibition “home game. national business – sport – spectacle” in the berlin based gallery of fine arts ngbk (www.heimspiel-2006.de) and supported the exhibition “you’ll never walk alone. football and fan culture” in the o.k. center for contemporary art in linz/austria.

fefczak escaped from the soccer world cup 2006 in germany. he escaped to a lonely island. short movies were shot, tiny columns were written and a island internet café was built up in the ngbk gallery (http://fefczak.wordpress.com).
