Imagine this- in a business dominated by plastic pop stars, ready made radio hits and American idols, there's still a hard rock band doing it all by themselves the old fashioned way- taking the music to the people, winning fans face to face, and in the process, earning the title "The future of Hard Rock" (WRHU 88.7FM). Not too bad for four boys from Brooklyn... The story begins in late 2003, when the New York born and raised Pfeffer brothers Rob (Vocals, Guitar) and Dan (Guitar) set out to create an original hard hitting sound that would incorporate aggressive melodies, in your face guitars and ear grabbing, radio-ready hooks, while still staying true to the band's old school metal influences. FEFF's lineup solidified with the additions of Pat Crotty (Drums), and Eric Bergmann (Bass). The band hit the New York club circuit and beyond with an incredibly powerful, high energy show that won them a loyal following of hard rock fans all over the country.

The bands early demos began receiving airplay on NYC’s 92.3 K-ROCK. Due to the overwhelming number of requests, K-ROCK invited FEFF to their studios for an on-air interview with DJ Matt Pinfield. After K-ROCK began playing FEFF, Q104.3 and 102.3 WBAB followed suit, putting FEFF among the few unsigned bands to be played on all three of NYC’s major rock radio stations. In just a few months the band sold every copy of their self titled demo, so FEFF decided it was time to head into the studio to finally record their full length debut album “Question The Motive”. Released on Oct. 20th, 2006 to anxiously awaiting fans all across the world, the new LP further proves that FEFF is a force to be reckoned with in the hard rock world. Necessity being the mother of invention, the label-less band has consistently thought up cutting edge ways to utilize the internet to get the CD into the hands of fans worldwide. Astonishing sales of “Question The Motive”, and the thousands of hits to their website has made FEFF one of the most successful unsigned hard rock bands in the United States. Needless to say, this sort of commotion did not go unnoticed. Sirius satellite radio’s The Howard Stern Show took a liking to the band and has consistently plugged FEFF on the air while also using tracks from the bands brand new album as bumpers and intros’ to the show. The bands first single “Sold Me” was also featured in the August 2008 issue of Metal Edge Magazine.

Even with all this, it’s the live show where FEFF really shines. Since the release of "Question the Motive", FEFF has taken their raw, energetic live show out of the clubs of New York to stages all over the country. Sharing the stage with bands like Sevendust, Alterbridge, Bobaflex and Powerman 5000 as well as several national tours under their belt, FEFF is proud to say they've played from New York to California and almost everywhere in between. Amidst a mob of apathetic, passionless competitors, FEFF has proven themselves as a band with the attitude and the brains to get what they want. Editor Mike G from Metal Maniacs, said it best; "They’re smart, they're talented. Those are the ones who make it, those are the ones who last."

Honestly I'm happy to hear that our music makes you want to eat puppy's. I know this GREAT spot downtown that has the best fuckin' puppy's in the city, and their dead baby appetizers are to die for. Ill buy if you guys are game to go. We can chat about music and how much better food is when it tastes offensive.

Darron to be Different, my independent music blog, returns this week after a one-week absence. This week's blog really returns with a force as I have some great columns and content along with a brand new prize definitely worth checking out. Remember, I do this blog to support independent music and I'm always looking for bands, fans, promoters, DJs, venues and anyone else to contribute to its content. If you are interested, please add me to your friends and drop me an e-mail. The blog link is below!
http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=446278706&blogId=494748212
This week's content includes:
* Road Trips: Jonny of Warner Drive talks about the reality of life on the road and hardships/tests that touring will make on each band member. If you are in a band, you definitely want to check out this column as I know you will relate to some of his stories.
* Truth or Darron: You only have one week to shop for Father's Day, BUT Roadrunner Records & Black Stone Cherry have come up with a FREE way for you to show dad you love him or remember his impact on your life. Read about it in my blog.
* From The Crowd: Check out what City Boy Records has to say about the band Circle of One!
* Six Pack: I took a few suggestions this week and added a few from my travels on MySpace. Six different music groups are featured on my player and in this section for you to check out!
* Post, Boast & Toast: Every month, I give away an item in a drawing for EACH person that comments my blog. Every time you post a comment to my music blog, you are entered to win. This month, I tie in with Truth or Darron this week - you can win a signed CD from Black Stone Cherry! It's that simple. Just comment and LMK how I am doing!
Thanks to everyone who stops by and promotes my blog. I really do appreciate it!
