Die Testcard ist eine halbjährig erscheinende Anthologie zur Popgeschichte und -theorie, die neueste Ausgabe #16 - Extremismus wird im Rahmen eines Vortrages vorgestellt von Martin Büsser (Intro/Ventil-Verlag/konkret/I can't relax in Deutschland...).
Der Begriff Extremismus ist aus der jüngsten politischen Debatte nicht wegzudenken. Meist bezieht er sich auf die Gefahr des internationalen Terrorismus und dient als Argument für schärfere, umfassendere Überwachungen. Während konservative Werte wie Nation, Familie und Religion Konjunktur haben und nicht selten mittels extremer Positionen verfochten werden, ist es um eine extreme, nämlich radikale und kritische Kunst derzeit schlecht bestellt.
Im Anschluss ist der Film über die letzten Tage des CBGBs zu sehen. The Silence After - The downfall of CBGBs (USA 2006) von Torsten Meyer mit Konzertausschnitten von Gorilla Biscuits, Avail, Blondie, Patti Smith und anderen.
