About me:

I'd like to think that I'm a work in progress. I think the people who knew me in high school, college and now in graduate school who all describe me differently. That said, I've always been a bit of a goof ball. I have a lot of hobbies that keep me busy. I'm a scuba diver (soon to be a Divemaster). I like to volunteer when I have time. I like being crafty (I can quilt and crochet). I started my own book club because I wanted people to talk about books with, since I missed this about college. I play fantasy sports and know more about baseball and hockey than most guys (and most importantly my dad). I like to laugh a lot. I've lost a lot in my life and thus try to live each day to the fullest. Sometimes this leaves me overwhelmed and overworked.

I spend a lot of my time thinking about how I can make my life better and then acting on what I discover in this process. Because of this I feel that every year of my life has been better than the year before.

I do all my thinking while in the shower or walking. Yesterday I wondered if I was trapped for the rest of my life in the biology building on campus how long I would be able to survive if all the labs were open and available to me. Obviously I'd be fine for the first month just eating things left in fridges and in cabinets that the other graduate students leave behind. But what about after that? Well, there are tons of amino acids sitting round and a lot of glucose and sucrose for experiments. I suppose I could eat a bit of these chemicals for every meal. Then I wondered if I would be brave enough to start eating the lab rats... and what about the lab dogs? I wonder if I would get really bored with my days and just start doing biology. I don't do biology research, I do chemistry. But since I'd be stuck in the biology building would I open some lab notebooks and read some papers and look around the labs and start doing some science? Is it possible that I could publish a paper before I die of starvation? Could someone publish a paper on how I lived on lab rats and scoop fulls of glucose for extended periods of time while still conducting scienfitic experiments?

I think I'd survive about 6 months. I'm not planning on testing this hypothesis. I come up with a lot of good ideas, most people just don't realize it.

I also tend to ramble. Did you notice?

Long story short, I left it in the back pocket of a pair of pants I had on, and it fell out. :/

His name's Edward (well, it will be once we train him to respond to it). He's a total sweetheart, too.
We'll be getting him Saturday morning.

Hey sis, think you could give me any hint as to what you'd like for Christmas?

It's more than fine with me that I wait to open them until I get there. We're not going to be home or Christmas, anyways, so it's all good. :]

And I was wondering what those presents were for... I will indeed remind him.

End of year like the end of the school year.

hmm... my teacher's pretty liberal on what her Chem students do. we can really do it on anything we want, as long as we can trace it back to Chemistry (and provide reasonable proof of why/how).

I'm not sure on the deadline yet, but I think that (once again, only with Chem students) she doesn't really care as long as it's done by the end of the year.

Hey sis, I've got a science fair project coming up, and I was wondering if you had any interesting/unique ideas I could base my project off of.

Somehow, I just have a feeling that Dad won't see it that way. And do you know of that ability he has to make you feel guilty no matter how petty it is?

ugh, and I don't even WANT to explain to Grandma what my shirt says.

Thanks, although I don't have much to do with it. She's really becoming a young lady! And on top of that, I can't believe that "I" have an almost 5 year old! That makes me feel old. Love you.

I don't think a very long "Awwwwwwwww" would aptly suit the adorableness of that. ^.

Haha yep, well it is incredibly mind numbing to breast feed and have nothing else to do. I love to stare at my little guy, but I'm a multitasker, I can't just stare at him. hehe.
:) Computer saves me!

Hahah, yeahhh, I'm really trying to be in a lot of honors classes, so I don't have do deal so much with the whining, lazy people who probably don't even know how to spell "intellectual.
