After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem, & some songs, on myspace... Poem 187 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (see my blog for details): A SOUTH SHIELDS WALKABOUT - AUTUMN 2001
Out of the museum-and-gallery (Wiser on Cookson and the local way), Down Ocean Road with, to the right of me, Its eateries and, left, neat places to stay; Before, on either side, Marine Parks - The southern-one a most beautiful place, Teeming with moorhens, swans, grebes and mallards In a small lake at a scenic-hill’s base.
Then (holding chips from the parade’s cafe And, thus, a flock of gulls squawking above) Onto the South Pier I made my way: Seeing seaweed over rocks - like a glove - And high-and-dry sands held from transgression By growth of grass and the weaving of wood, Plus, in the dim light of a sleepy sun, Fishing boats returning to Tynemouth’s hood.
All the best in 2010! Enjoy our new video "Ceili Mor" (The Big Dance) - and stop by our web site for a FREE download of the song. "Ceili Mor" is in gaelic, so unless you speak the Irish language you won't understand a bloody word. The video was a blast to shoot however, with everyone having way too much fun. * * Cheers!
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this folk-carol on myspace... Poem 230 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (see my blog for details): CHRISTMAS SUNG SIMPLY
As gospellers have said, Beneath signalling skies, On land dusty to tread, A trough in a stable Was the strawy first-bed Of a divine baby - The forgiving Godhead.
A season for new hope - There then and here now; The yuletide of goodwill - There then and here now.
In respect of this chance, Beneath bright or dark skies, Faith's the star that we glance Attending Christ's churches And trying to enhance, With singing and ritual, Our God-loving stance.
Hola Part of the idea is to enable small-scale producers, copyright owners of digital works (songs, tunes, videos, data) to publish and charge for downloading. Music and tune wise we have sorted, still working on video. As well as 'Raremusez Basement' (all tunes free or 55p) the download area, there is a Members site allowing registered users to upload mp3 files which can then be published at the basement. Can you pass on details to whoever you think might be interested. Charges/costs and how to are available to registered members. The site is built on the Joomla open source framework so large scope for development and hosting. Cheers Coopz new tunes
I was going to go camping over the weekend, but this is definitely NOT camping weather. So me and some friends went to check out Dueling Pianos. Those guys are amazing - they can play just about any song that's been on the radio between 1950 and 2005.
Speaking of music, I wanted to let you know about a show we have @ Station 4 on Friday, October 16th. We are debuting a project called Sonic Transformations. It is a series of audio-visual performance pieces. The first one is called "AN OBJECT TO CRAVE". It features live music and visuals based on a short story about life, love, loss, fantasy, obsession and death.
Another group of mine, The Magnetrons, which plays an exciting and innovative Livetronica set (i.e. STS9, Disco Biscuits, The Histronic) will also be playing. The night will be full of creative, interesting, high-energy music, good drinks and good times.
Here's the info:
Blood Root Mother - "An Object to Crave" w/ The Magnetrons & Thought Thieves Friday, October 16th Station 4 201 E 4th St St Paul, MN 55101 9pm / $5 / 18+
Hello, dear Felonious ! A new day - and the feeling of a brand new way of life: fresh and wild like a child! Keep up the good vibes! Much love from Cologne/Germ, Raji Shosh
Thanks for checking it out! Actually, the inspiration behind the song came from the manufacturers of duct tape. Most people don't ask the important questions like "how do they make duct tape silver?" The answer is terrifying. They kill innocent silver baby ducks.
