Felton Offard is a guitarist/bassist/composer/producer. He is a versatile artist who has worked with diverse acts, from pop star Barry Manilow to jazz legend Clark Terry. Mr. Offard co-wrote the song, "I'll Follow You", recorded by Grammy award winner Melvin Williams and Tracy Worth. He co-wrote the title song for American Idol's George Huff's debut CD Miracles. Felton appeared with Kanye West on MTV's Stand In. As a composer his works have appeared on National Public Radio and the Australian documentary "Animal World" . Felton Offard wrote and produced seven of nine songs on the critically acclaimed jazz project Lines and Spaces, "Shades of Brown". As a guitarist he has appeared all over the United States and Europe. His latest release, Rise on Waldon records is a jazz/gospel CD that has received wide critical acclaim.
Felton started playing drums at age seven and by fifteen switched to guitar. He played at the Faith Temple COGIC in his hometown, Freeport , IL . Mr. Offard has earned a Master's Degree in Music and a Bachelor's of Music degree from Northern Illinois University . He teaches guitar at Chicago State University . Mr. Offard is the Author of the guitar method, "Back to Basics: A Comprehensive Method for Guitar". He lives in the Chicago area with his wife and three children.
