FUFA is concerned about the way that women and girls are portrayed in the media. We feel that there are too many negative images of women and girls, and that these images are tied to sexual exploitation and violence against women. We understand that society creates the structure in which these forms of violence take place, and that the media has a large role in that process. We recognize that too many people accept media power and media images without challenging them, and that the media is not held responsible for its actions.
FUFA has identified 3 issues in response:
1. To create more positive images of women in the media
2. To educate the public about these problems, encouraging people to think and act about the media
3. To make media more responsible for the images it puts out

As you all know I have been doing an internship here at FUFA and over the summer I have been doing this thing called Media monitoring. What I do is I go on the internet and I look at different stories from all different sources of news and I see which one is most bias. I have to find news sources that reports the news in different ways to different people like I have to find a source that is bias and I also have to find news that is one sided like racist, sexist, classis, or any other news that leaves some group of people out of the way they report the news.
