At its most basic, it's an Atlanta-based progressive, edgy organization of self-identified femmes open to all genders and sexual orientations that seeks to foster connections between femmes, reinforce femme identity and provide members with the occasion to bask in their own fierce fabulousness and the fabulousness of others. In a larger sense, it provides us with a sense of community, a forum for the examination of our identities, of how each of us fits in the community at large and of how we femmes as a group can make a place for ourselves. The organization also does a lot to counter the many misconceptions and preconceived notions about what a femme is and what a femme does and to show none of those assumptions are true all the time. Being at a Femme Mafia event and seeing Femme reflect back at you in so many different forms can be a challenging and transformative experience. It can also be addictive. I find that Femmes are hungry for it, and so am I. For me, Femme is an umbrella under which we find solace, and not an exclusionary or restrictive predetermined formula. Femme Mafia is reinforcement, it's challenging, it's celebration, it's discussion and it's fucking fun.

Lickaotta's it's time to start planning for Lickalotta Fest 09' to be held June 19, 20, 21st .
It will be held at Etowah River Campground, Dahlonega, GA. 706-864-9035
This year's theme is Lickalotta-PESSIMISM. And, boy! is there a lot of that out there this year. We would love to see ALL the Lickalotta's out there this year showing their support for Camp Lickalotta and licking-a-lotta-of PESSIMISM that weekend.

Arrival time is 3 PM Friday, June 19th and Departure time is 3 PM Sunday, June 21st. The BANDS will be playing Saturday night and vendors will be on hand as well. Vendors that are interested in being part of Lickalotta Fest 09' we encourage you to let us know at camplickalotta@aol.com We will walk you through the process of registration and reserve your vending spot.
Let's get together this year, June 19, 20, 21st and Lickalotta-PESSIMISM together. It will be a fun weekend NO DOUBT!
The cost for the entire weekend is $25 per person. So, whether you are a tenter that wants to make reservations early to get the best tent sites available or you are bringing an RV, by the way there are over 50 RV sites to choose from it it $25 per person. Etowah River Campground has Gated Security, handicapped accessible, washers/dryers, showers/toliets, fire wood available, ice, and tubing.
We will be having a 50/50 drawing with the proceeds going to Camp Lickalotta and one lucky winner. There will also be some free give a ways.

Lickalotta's, it's been a while in the making and we faced many obstacles and have overcome them all! All we need now is YOU! We need you to come out and show us and the bands, and the vendors, and our Cancer Charity that YOU stand behind all of us!!!
We ALL, have busted our butts, changed our schedules, re-arranged, and re-arranged to make sure that we would give you one fabolous weekend May 16-18th, 2008! It's almost here!!
