Femme Mafia, originally founded by a group of femmes in Atlanta, "is a progressive, edgy organization of self-identified femmes open to all genders that seeks to foster connections between femmes, reinforce femme identity, and provide members with the occasion to bask in their own fierce fabulousness and the fabulousness of others".
Further, "Femme Mafia provides a sense of community, a forum for the examination of our identities, of how each of us fits in the community at large and of how we femmes as a group can make a place for ourselves."
Femme Mafia MKE is an organization dedicated to the original goals of Femme Mafia, Atlanta, with an emphasis on the localized needs of femmes in Milwaukee: a mostly working-class, segregated city, where queer femmes of color and white femmes do not often meet, collaborate, and/or mobilize. Femme Mafia MKE is a necessary component for the Milwaukee queer community, and we believe it's time for Milwaukee to recognize fabulous, fierce, femmes everywhere.
We will meet monthly; sometimes we'll simply bask in our own fabulousness and at other times, we'll stir shit up and make Milwaukee notice us.
Our allies, or Friends of Femme Mafia, are invited to join us at our all-inclusive after parties, following our femme-only dinners, drinks, and damage.

Transgender and Transsexual Women Needed for Research on Thoughts About Sexual Reassignment Surgery
My M.A. research* involves interviewing transgender and transsexual women on their opinions on sexual reassignment surgery. Identities will remain confidential. Please contribute to the sociological understanding of transgender and transsexual experience. If you can not be involved in this study, please pass the flyer on to others who may be interested.
Participants must:
Be between the ages 18 to 39 years old Have not yet had or do not plan on having sexual reassignment surgery (pre-operative) Be willing to be interviewed
