IF YOU'D LIKE TO BE ADDED TO OUR LISTSERV, EMAIL FEMMEMAFIATC@GMAIL.COM
Femme Mafia Twin Cities is an organization inspired by the original Femme Mafia, founded by a group of femmes in Atlanta. Like the original, we seek fierce, fabulous femmes of all genders and femme allies to build community, have fun with each other, wreck havoc against all oppressive forces, and support the variety of ways we live out and appreciate femme identity in our lives. Femme Mafia Twin Cities is excited and ready to create a space for ourselves in which femmes are respected and supported for their specific gendered choices, histories and identities, and in which femmes and our allies can struggle together against racism, sexism, trans-, bi- and homo-phobia, class oppression, ableism, imperialism and all the divisions that exist in our communities.
WHAT WE DO:
Monthly HotDishes -- to build community and socialize
Biweekly Discussion Groups -- to get to know each other, support each other and think through our differences (these alternate being open to femmes and allies and femmes only)
Craft Nights!
Fundraising events to get us to the 2008 Femme Conference!
Femme Mafia Twin Cities is open to all femme-identified and femme-allied peoples and caring people who are interested in learning more. Send us a message or email us at FemmeMafiaTC@gmail.com for more information and to get involved.
Kimle tanışmak isterim: Femmes of any gender and allies interested in getting together to celebrate the femmes in our lives; confront misogyny, racism, transphobia, and homophobia (among other things) in our communities; and have a banging time doing it!
CUAPB Demonstration @ North Commons Park Against Police Murder of Ahmed Guled, 4:30 Wednesday!! (Feb. 11th)
The police have murdered yet another member of our community. Once again the victim was a person of color, Ahmed Guled a young Somali.
As usual the police are attempting to justify continuous attacks on the citizenry by calling the victim a criminal and labeling their actions as "justifiable homicide." The authorities have a history of lying about the facts in similar incidents so we will not provide them any benefit of doubt in this incident, nor the murders of citizens that our sure to happen in the future until the community comes together to stop it.
We must act now and defend ourselves against state sponsored death of civilians in all forms.
Communities United Against Police Brutality has organized a demonstration on the spot of this latest death at the hands of police. Please join us this Wednesday, February 11 at 4:30pm, North Commons Park, (corner of Golden Valley Rd. and Morgan Ave.) and help us tell the police they we will not tolerate continuous violence at their hands.

From mass police brutality during the RNC, to the everyday brutality against people of color and poor people in the streets and in the jails. Something has to be done to end their reign of terror. • We need a real civilian review authority that holds cops accountable and isn’t just a rubber stamp agency! • End beatings and abuse in jails - and prosecute the brutal jailers! • No more bogus charges against police brutality victims. Prosecute brutal cops! • Drop ALL charges against the RNC arrestees - Dissent is not a crime! • Fire cops who lie in police reports or in court!
We must let the authorities know that we will no longer be silent in the face of police brutality!
