FENNI CASINO AKA Da Gambler, born Jonathan Walters, is the consummate entertainer; an artist's artist. Born in the musically gifted city of Atlanta, Fenni found his talent for lyricism after receiving a karaoke machine on his fifteenth birthday. Attending Tri-Cities High School (the same school that birthed hip hop legends Outkast and R&B group Xscape), Fenni began his writing his blueprint to become a product of new school hip-hop.

Experiencing minor set-backs proved to be unexpectedly beneficial to the direction of Fenni's career. Relocating to the Pacific Northwest city of Seattle (affectionately known as Seatown), it was there that Fenni established himself as a voice to the masses. “Fenni's sound is universal, the world can just vibe off of it,” says a Seattle-based music editor. He released his first mixtape, Industry Ready Volume 1, in 2005. Selling over 5,000 units in the Northwest region, he garnered the attention of major label representatives. In the spirit of continuous momentum, Fenni followed up his stellar debut with C.A.S.I.N.O and Blacklist. It was with that highly recognized release that Fenni received national press and industry attention. He's opened for the likes of Kanye West and Sean Kingston. His 1st official buzz single “Around The World” is in rotation on major radio outlets in the Northwest region. He's worked with Mobb Deep, DJ Mike Lova, and is currently collaborating with upcomers J-Marie Portia.

Fenni's clever punchlines and charismatic confidence has won him fans worldwide. In fact, it was out of a Las Vegas freestyle cipher that his stage name was created: “Don't get it twisted I'm in Vegas but I preach the South. Call Fenni Casino, cuz you know you can't beat the house.” Fusing both his East and West Coast roots, Fenni's lyrical content is both relatable and empathetic; on a Seattle stage, he explained “being from where I'm from, you couldn't rap about it if you ain't do it.” Fenni makes no apologies for the tribulations he's had to experience. In fact, he uses them as a platform to reach the ears that truly need to hear his story; hip-hop's story.

Fenni's commercial release The Sound of Music is set to drop Spring 2010. His new single “My Swagg” ft Portia is being pushing throughout the Northwest, Atlanta, and the Washington DC markets. As for the creative process, Fenni's purpose is quite simple “Hip hop is my tool to motivate others.”
