A heartbreaking, toe-tapping good time (and not that new country crap).
The Fentons began playing original country music in a North Seattle basement in 2009. But the band members have all been making music for a lot longer.
Fronting The Fentons, singing and strumming, are the two brothers who write all the songs: Jim and David Keller. They've been playing in popular Seattle rock bands for a couple of decades, including New Flamingos and The Different Ones, headlining local clubs and releasing various vinyl and cassettes (told you it'd been a couple of decades). And they've been writing and recording all sorts of songs in that North Seattle basement. After a serious songwriting bender left them with a hatful of new country songs, they decided to grab their guitars, call a few friends and form a band. Steve and Chas (who also drums with The Phantoms) played with the Keller brothers in their club days. Steve hasn't cut his hair since, although Chas sports the best facial hair in the band. Kent has played with Seattle alt-rockers The Gestures and the Paul Brownlow Band, but may be the twangiest of the bunch.
The Fentons play original tunes that blend country roots with more rockin' americana. Let 'er buck.
