Fer de Lance is a band that is 15 years in the making. Cousins Jason Cole & Josh Hendrix first began jamming in the south Florida rock scene. Songs were written, people dug it, life was good. In a cruel twist of fate, Cole’s family moved out of the South and in turn ended the band. Cole and Hendrix eventually met up in the city of St. Louis some 15 years later. They immediately rekindled the musical spark they had once known. Now the only question was where to find the right musicians to make the music come to life. Cole & Hendrix recruited Jared Gleason, a former band mate of theirs from the local St. Louis band Side of Fives. Gleason, added some much needed depth and melody to the bands guitar work and there was much rejoicing. With 2 vacancies left to fill...enter Wes Hastings. By a stroke of luck, Wes happened into a bar that Josh & Jason's cover band, Cigarettes & Valentines was playing. A few compliments were paid, an audition was arranged, and Wes began playing drums in the group immediately. After enough nagging, Ricky Wicks agreed to give it a shot, and hasn't backed down since. This group has an awesome chemistry and an insatiable desire to be on the road and come to a city near you! Check us out and with you're support, we'll travel any distance we can!
Loud, Aggressive, Melodic, & Powerful are all adjectives used to describe Fer De Lance's art. As one band member states, "It's the audial equivalent of lazing a stick of dynamite". Keep an eye out for Fer De Lance in the upcoming months throughout the St. louis and Mid-West regions.
