Wellness Expo: Chakra Balancing
In her talk on Chakra Balancing, Ferol addresses the common overuse of the upper four Chakras, and the simple philosophies and practices for including the lower three chakras in a whole and healthy daily life. For a FINE example of the kind of liberating inner transformation I love best, here is Baxter of HoopPath.org, flowing with the infinite~ hooping in the innermost and uttermost way. I met Baxter, along with his associate, the amazing Ann Humphreys, and Beth, known as lavinder5 on youtube, in May 2009 at a workshop in Austin. It was the most I could have hoped for, truly. You can clearly see why in this 1 minute video of Ann and Baxter, shot by Laura Scarborough of HoopCircle.com, who created the piano sountrack:

For some real fun, watch SharnaRose, Hoopmaster of the Universe. She is so AWESOME! WHAT a hoop genius. By 2 min in, she has begun her ascent, and at 2-3 min she builds the burn. Between 4-5 minutes, she has stepped thru a crack in the dimensions and turned into a lightwave! Watch this first thing in the morning or last thing at night, and you will never be depressed. Go, Sharna Rose. You make my day every time you post a youtube. You just won't believe this one, and this is why she is famous and very well beloved in the hoop world.
Now that we have blown our minds with hooping at its finest, did I mention I am in love with Tarot? And, I love to read. I read about five books per week. Education does not need to ever end in this life. Also, I'm a foodie, and hope to one day have an entire collection of AllClad cookware and an 8-burner stove, and I would like to dine at elBulli before I die. I love foreign films, especially asian. Yoga for sure, both the deep inward kind, and vinyasa flow. Acid-etched glass. Pas de verre glass. Ancient Chinese terracotta pottery. Bonsai trees. A cool little potted plant called Hoya Compacta, which I have been looking to obtain since good grief 1969. Am I that old? Yes, I am. But not dead, and not done, either.

Ayub Ogada who wrote the haunting African song "Kothbiro". What could be more beautiful than this? I heard this song in my head for years before the movie The Constant Gardner came out. If it had not been for that movie, I might never have found the song again. So beautiful.

Loved Independence Day by David Byrne, and his whole demonstration of the various types of arrangements on Rei Momo. I am fascinated by Tai Chi. Here is a fine example of an unusual form of Tai Chi, in this breathtaking, beautiful demonstration by You Li Han, with his co-instructor Dennis Luedtke in blue, who is also on YouTube with over 25 more videos. Note that in this push hands flow, You Li Han and Dennis drop to almost a crouch, and still maintain incredible sensitivity. It looks choreographed, but it is not, and yes, You Li Han has his eyes closed. In normal practice they would be sensing each other, following each other, each waiting for the other to break out and attempt to control them with an offensive gesture. In battle, this flowing sensitivity is both protection and a skill for offensive movement if necessary.
Let's look further into Wudang Pai, the martial arts form once again demonstrated below by Ismet Himmet of Wudang Deutschland, known as You Li Han, here demonstrating sword form, and his two students Yukiko Tanji (Taiji & Gongfu Instructor, Berlin), and Liu Yu Chuan (Yang Taiji Instructor, Berlin). All three won medals at the 2009 German National Championship. Be sure to watch Yukiko Tanji between 4:20 and 4:29~ just amazing! Congratulations, all three of you, and especially You Li Han, a visionary martial arts practitioner and educator, uniting east and west.
Okay, what movies do I like the best, well, it's very hard to think of all the good ones, because I have been watching movies for a long, long time. This surprises people, given my line of work, but I loved The Fight Club, and it is the first movie I always think of when this question gets asked, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I laughed so hard during their fight scene that I almost cried. The rest of my favorites, well, how 'bout these: Kiss of the Spider Woman, Raise the Red Lantern, To Dream with the Fishes, Derzu Uzala, Dreams by Kirasawa, Koyanisquatzi and Baraka, My Twentieth Century, Do the Right Thing, Factotem, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Bottle Rocket. And I think that Cory "Mr. Safety" Williams, one of the YouTube partners, is a total gas and I would love to meet him. Oops, wrong section! I like his Mean Kitty Song. And I love Happy Birthday from Joe Cocker, which is hilarious. Also Beth Hooping to Nick Drake, and Im Rachem Des Jaguars, a totally amazing hooping practice by Sharna Rose. And obviously, I like You Li Han's Push Hands Tai Chi demo, above. Plan to get started on YouTube myself, before Dec 2008. More later.

ENERGY WORK, CHAKRA BALANCING, HEALING, TEACHING, INTUITIVE AND SUPERCONSCIOUS DEVELOPMENT: I am pretty much monopolized full-time with my interest in studying energy processes within the human body and its environment, deep meditation, healing modalities such as Jin Shin Jyutsu, Shiatsu, Trinity Table, CranioSacral therapies, internal martial arts, Tai Chi, Chi Gong, and my own Energy Healing protocol, Blue Lotus Heart Chi Gong. If you are curious about this aspect of my work, check out the Chakra Balancing Basics lecture I gave at the 2006 Wellness Expo in Dallas Texas, at left. Doing the Wellness Expo lecture/video was a lot of fun. This video seems very pixilated, and at one point the camera does not follow me, but you will still hear the information. And strangely enough, I look younger now, even though this video was made several years ago. I developed the video material for a quick lecture because so many people do not understand why they feel other people's emotions, run out of energy, and can't enjoy their physicality. The material is helpful to a lot of people who are trying so hard to evolve and ascend that they forget to factor in their own bodies! Thinking about things in this basic way may lead you to a more serious investigation of how your body and energies are conformed in space, so that you may live freely and well.
THE ART OF WELLNESS: I run a private wellness practice in Dallas, specializing in Energy Health and Intuitive Development. The majority of my appointments are one-hour sessions for Blue Lotus Heart Chi Gong, my energy healing method, or half-hour sessions for Trinity Table Stress Relief. Most of my clients come to me on referral from professionals in Yoga, Martial Arts, Chiropractic, and Acupuncture, as well as other Alternative Health approaches. My private Energy appointments are for those who need to recharge or reconfigure themselves. We use colored, taped, weighted hoops, some of them 44 inches in diameter and weighing up to 4 pounds, for trick hooping, skill hooping, and general overall grins. It feels so good! It is so beautiful! And YouTube is FULL of gorgeous and funny hoopdancing videos. I found Karis dancing at Mutaytor, and I was immediately hooked. The part of me which knows no bounds comes out when I think about, view, or practice hooping. "Don't Hooping Tell Me What To Do! I'll do what I hooping please!" That's what happens to me. I get young and radical and absolutely free. Smiling, moving, breathing, sweating, moving, smiling, yeah! tpkeough totally sold me once and for all with his Ring of Fire video, and it lead me to Burning Man and a thousand other fanTAStic things. Hooping is in some ways the best of all of it. Come see. Look up Canyon Hoops and Hoopnotica and see what I am talking about. I got an Infinity Travel Hoop from Canyon, then a 44 inch turquoise and silver metal hoop, and by then we were off to the races. I have PLENTY of hoops now. In fact, I have Chakra Hoops, and I use these solid colored hoops to isolate certain energies and work them deliberately, up and down my energy flow, singly and in harmonies. BLUE LOTUS HEART CHI GONG: I originated, teach and certify in Blue Lotus Heart Chi Gong, an integrated system of Natural Healing. Blue Lotus Heart is a very effective wellness protocol, consistent with traditional Asian energy theory. My journey of discovery in this process has been one of the great miracles of my life. I learned the skills and techniques on the inner planes, while I worked with my wellness clients. While no doubt the preparation took two decades, the official protocol began to emerge in 2001, and I am still learning and gaining in skill.
Most bodyworkers and energy workers develop and blend a variety of modalities to form their own signature style. Even so, my process has been much more, to my utter amazement. I have seen, felt, and been shown highly detailed views of the energy systems in the human body, while I worked. Many times I was directly facilitated in the application of techniques unknown to me and beyond my skill level. After nearly a decade of learning, and the wild fun of trying to see if I could teach the process, I finally realized that my work was really VERY different than that of others in the Western world~ in fact, it is original. However, I also felt that what I was being taught was actually very old knowledge. So, I wondered, how it can be original if it is ancient?
Eventually I met a health professional who introduced me to Chi Gong and Asian energy theory and mechanics. I almost fell off my chair! The specific techniques I was learning in the Great Silence were all in the books of Master Lam Kam Chuen, and of Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming, who has translated ancient Asian masterworks on Chi Gong such as Small Circulation, Great Circulation, and Muscle Tendon Brain Washing Technique. I was floored! Then, I met Master William C. C. Chen in New York City, and participated in one of his Beginner Tai Chi classes, (what an honor!). I watched him very, very carefully, feeling his movement and working with him very directly. Such a brief, outstanding experience! I then knew that my work is from ancient knowledge. I have simply remembered and developed it in this life, from respected and honored teachers of the distant past. How wonderful, how miraculous, how very grateful and amazed I am.
So, back to the present. Since my students have badgered me consistently to name and certify in my protocol, I finally agreed to do so in the summer of 2008. My decade of resistance to naming the work was based on what I have called the "Commercial Americanization" of health processes which I view as public domain. I believe that such knowledge is available to every human being who wishes to study and practice, and the information is timeless, true, and obvious to those who take the time to investigate, so how can we trademark it or commercially own it? Why not just teach it? Just practice the work! However, having watched the difficulties of the process of referring to Scaravelli Yoga, I can see that my personal resistance is off the mark and I needed to get over it. Vonda Scaravelli, a brilliant and original yoga instructor, apparently strongly opposed any use of her name in identifying her innovative yoga theory, and that has made it difficult to speak of her excellent ideas and practices. Since her death, everyone finds that in order to speak of her original work, they must call it Scaravelli Yoga, and they feel bad about doing exactly what she did not want them to do. Yet, how to talk about something you cannot name? So, you see my point. The future is now, so why not make things easy. So I named, I teach, and I certify. I am proud of Blue Lotus Heart Chi Gong, and so are my students. In Blue Lotus Heart Chi Gong, more than any other work that I do, I feel affirmed in one idea:
It is always an honor to be a teacher, and it is always an honor to be a student.
THE TRINITY TABLE, THE MOST ADVANCED SPIRITUAL AND ENERGETIC HEALING TECHNOLOGY IN THE WORLD: I am in deep serious love with my Trinity Table, and I use it myself an hour a week, plus put anybody and everybody on it for energetic and spiritual self-alignment, whenever they ask for a session. There is a photo of the Trinity Table in the slide show above~ it is the whiskey-colored massage-table looking thing. It rotates and rocks. Very cool. There are only 25 or so in the world, and I own one! In a darkened room, listening music on an excellent sound system, you feel as if you have left the world of gravity and toil, and gone on vacation. Your inner truth comes to the surface, you release inner confusions and falsehoods, and you are on your way to personal integration, which is a much better way to live.
LIVING ENERGY WELLNESS MEETUP, DALLAS TEXAS: In June 2008 I began this topic-specific Meetup specifically for the investigation of ancient energy healing arts from Asia, as well as more modern forms from the West. Using the human energy system as our focus, we will study and talk about every method we find, such as Reiki, Shiatsu, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Tai Chi, acupressure, acupuncture, Tui Na, and Chi Gong, chiropractic, Trinity Table, CranioSacral therapies, Blue Lotus Heart, and BodyTalk. TAROT, 78 CARDS TO DESCRIBE YOUR SOUL'S JOURNEY: Where Tarot is concerned, what a total blast! I am a professional Tarot instructor, with regular monthly classes in basic Intuitive Tarot skills, both in person and by phone. I also run a bunch of things in the Dallas area in which I try to get everybody imaginable to try reading Tarot cards intuitively to develop their inner senses. It takes up all my time! What are those bunches of things, you say? Well, here you go:
LIVING TAROT MEETUP, DALLAS, TEXAS: My most fun activity is being the Organizer for Living Tarot Meetup (http://www.meetup.com/LivingTarotMeetup/), which is currently the largest topic-specific Tarot Meetup in the world. Out of our 270+ membership online, which is international, we get groups of 20-30 people showing up every two weeks in a Borders Books in central Dallas, and we have a planned educational presentation, show off our new decks, strut our stuff, and read for each other. On the net, I served two years as Unofficial Moderator of the Worldwide Tarot Meetup Message Board, where I attempted to keep people everywhere in some kind of interesting and helpful order as we studied and learned about Tarot in its many forms, from the 1400s to the present day. For instance, did you know that there are probably 5,000 Tarot decks in past or present publication, worldwide, and that it is a HUGE industry? You can get fantasy Tarot, traditional Tarot, erotic Tarot (yes, erotic Tarot) and anything else you can think of. It is a collector's dream.
LIVING TAROT PRODUCTIONS, TAROT SOCIAL, AND 25/7 TAROT, EDUCATION AND PRACTICE FOR PUBLIC OR PRIVATE TAROT CONSULTING: Aside from that online/offline Meetups stuff, I derive personal satisfaction from watching people who have real talent develop themselves as public and professional Tarot readers. To help them develop skill and confidence, I run Living Tarot's 25/Seven Tarot, a monthly gathering of Tarot readers, where professionals read for the public for a downright silly price, $25 for 7 readings. This is a mentoring event for new Tarot readers. It is a lot of fun, and puts the readers and the public together with very little risk to either. Then we also have Tarot Social, which is a venue for the best professional Tarotists in the Dallas-Ft.Worth area. At the Tarot Social the price is $25 for a single focused reading. Readers of the Tarot Social are usually accepted into The Tarot School's Professional Tarot Readers Network, so there is some competition among Dallas readers for inclusion in Tarot Social, comprised of dedicated Tarotists who meet a certain standard, and wish to be acknowledged as the best.
TAROT CONVENTIONS ALL OVER THE PLACE: I had a wonderful time last year as a guest presenter at the 2007 Readers Studio in New York, April 20-22, where I offered two workshops on Tarot and the Chakras. I also presented two workshops at the July 2007 WATTS (Wisconsin Tri-State Tarot Symposium), one on Yoga for Tarot, and one called Building a Grassroots Tarot Community. I am busy this year, too! I was invited back to join the 2008 Readers Studio Celebrity Psychic Fair, which was loads of fun! I read for Joanna Powell Colbert and Ciro Marchetti, which was an honor and a pleasure in both cases. It was also delight to read alongside Rachel Pollack, Mary K. Greer, and James Wells, among notable others.
FREE LIVING, FREE BEING, AND PAYING THE BILLS: Did you know that MetaConsciousness can be studied and learned? I teach that very thing, with every method I offer. Email me if you wonder what I am talking about. Why do I do this? Presenting original material on what WORKS, in higher consciousness, Tarot, Wellness and Chakra Health, is a privilege and a pleasure. I love people, and I love my work, so it fits together nicely! Yes, I am professional and earn my living ~ but that is almost beside the point. I would do it all anyway, because it is more fun than anything else I have ever done. I would love to just hang around parks in Beijing long enough to watch a bunch of different push hands tai chi demonstrations, and some contact juggling mastery. Life, ah, LIFE!
Here is an image I created from a couple of my tarots. The Temperance angel is from one of 5 paintings I did of that card (this one is not the one in the Illuminated Tarot), and the background is part of the Cosmo Meditations card for the Universe, calaled Heaven World. I have been having fun on Photoshop! These combined images (there are more) were created for my videos, those can be found on my myspace page and on Youtube. If you go to Youtube you also will find a lot of other decks made by my husband Dirk Gillabel, of tarots he and I have created and painted over the years.

I was hoping to get my sister Sophie over to your place for a healing tx, but she lives too far away. I send her long distance Reiki, but I'm not so effective with it, and i think that "hands on" energy has the most impact. She lives out in the boonies, near Marfa, Tx. How's your life going for you these days? hope you are doing well.

Sorry for dropping off the face of the planet. I am leaving for 6 weeks for Thailand to film a new movie and everything has been CRAZY!!! I look forward to getting back in the mix when I get back. You should hear Taylor telling everyone about her experience on the Trinity table and getting hypnotized... it's one of her favorite things to talk about. I did have a chance to get together with the Richardson Reiki healers group and do a breath work session that knocked my socks off!!
