I live my life through running. I often ask myself, what would life have been like if I didn't ever get into running? If I didn't drop that relay bouton in 8th grade phys. ed. class I would have never realized I could run, after picking it up and making up 30 meters on 5 other guys in the 100 meters 3rd leg in that relay the rest became history.
I've been running since 8th grade and the sport has had the biggest effect on my life. The only time I ever let my running slip away was for a small period in my life after graduate school when I let work take over what was more important to me and those days I come to think of as the dark times.
Once I moved closer to NYC I joined a team again (Central Park Track Club), and now once again run competitively. My goals for 2008 have been to work on strength through the winter, run the ING Georgia Half Marathon end of March on strength and how for a 1:17:00 and then after that come into the spring season and bring the speed back to where it needs to be again and run the Pocono Marathon in 2:45:00 and then do further fine tuning in order to run NYC Marathon in under 2:40:00.
Those are my goals for 2008!!!
